I picked up a 586 (no dash) yesterday. Just looking for info on it.
a) .357 mag
b) 6 inch
c) square grip
d) six shots
e) adjustable
f) ACT54xx
g) 586 (no dash)
I took the grips off today, which appear to be original, they are marked Jan 13, 1984. So I would figure the firearm was built around...
Out of curiosity, since this firearm has para word lineage (I didn't know Remington had bought out Para Ord), does that mean the R1 pistols have a trigger block safety like a series 80?
Really bummed to see this. I haven't been on much the past few months. I jumped into the reloading section and saw the link to this. RC helped me immensely when i started reloading about 6 years ago. Also helped me narrow down a problem with a 1911 grip safety a couple of years ago too. His...
My wife keeps her Glock 19 for HD. She constantly makes sure I still have a Remington 870 in the house as well. She's shot the 870 before, and though she really doesn't like it, I'm certain that if she were called upon to defend our kids while home, she would use the 870 in a heartbeat.
I used to be a sig armorer. I replace recoil springs between 3500 and 5000 rounds. I completely strip the gun every 10000-15000 rounds and replace all the other springs. When I have it stripped I put all the parts in a sonic cleaner, so I know everything gets cleaned. Then I check the parts for...
I say take care of the gun and it will take care of you.
I have a Sig P220 with about 150k through it, a Springfield MC Operator 1911 with about 100k through it, and some others with more than 25k through them.
Just keep them clean, change springs at regular intervals, and just keep your eyes...
I have the Underwood M1 Carbine my grandfather bought from the DCM around the same time. Pretty sure I'd give up my wife, kids, and dog before I gave it up.
I haven't used a kkm in glock. But I currently have one in my Sig P226, converted from .40 to 9mm. Extremely accurate. I for one would not hesitate to put one in my glocks. FWIW, my preferred load is 124gr.
I'm a big fan of 357 sig. But for a much less scientific reason. I like the big bark, the big flash, and what can I say, I like recoil. Have a P226 in 357sig and a Glock 31.
But I will also say this, I have 9mm barrels for both. Honestly, the 9mm is cheaper and as others have said, there are...
I have found it is one of the more difficult rounds I load. If you open the mouth too much the bullet will drop in the case. I tend to favor the 125gr FMJ-FP bullets and typically use Unique powder.
Feeds and functions reliably in my Sig P226
It is a great round.
