Thanks, my groupings indicate my sighting is ok...I think it was just the trashy ammo, and my not cleaning the bore, cylinder, and frame behind the cylinder thoroughly. Should any of the trigger action be oiled?

I don't have a rear sight. My 317 is has the 1 7/8 inch barrel.

You guys were right. I cleaned the revolver better than before, and they now land nose first. I think the problem was 2-fold: lousy Remington ammo, and residue in the barrel and cylinder. Wolf Target Match worked well, and I'll try a few more brands. Any suggestions on ammo would be appreciated...

Keyholing with S&W 317 What accuracy should I expect from a S&W snubnose .22 LR model 317 AirLite revolver? It is keyholing from 3 yds and further. I have tried Remington Target ammo and CCI mini-mags, and others.

What accuracy should be expected from a S&W snubnose (1.875 in barrel) .22 LR model 317 AirLite revolver? Bullets keyhole at all distances from 3 yds on out. Have tried Remington Target ammo and CCI mini-mags. Any suggestions on different ammo?
