    Who for custom revolver work?

I have a Smith .44 Mag with a 6" barrel that I want to have some work done on. I want to shorten the barrel, install night sights, and have an action job done. What about just going to the Smith Performance Center?

    SBR questions

I plan on SBR'ing 3 new receivers I have picked up. I am the owner and executor of a Living Trust that I had set up in my name. I have been told that I can use this trust to transfer the receivers into and avoid CLEO signoff and other various hassles of the paperwork. My local NFA dealer said no...

    Fortifying the gun room

Car Knocker, I can't prepare for every contingency! But I guess if they want to go thru the roof then thru the RSC, they want my guns more than I do. All I want to do is a simple upgrade of security. I am also considering getting a monitoring service in addition to training for our Akita and...

    Fortifying the gun room

hso, There is really no way around the door, it is kind of hard to explain without pictures I guess. The door is simply hung in a regular 2x4 frame, this is what I really want to beef up.

    Fortifying the gun room

Three of the foor walls of this room are exterior walls. The only doorway to the room is at the end of a hall. Unless someone wants to go thru an exterior wall, which I am sure is possible, they are going to have to only go thru the interior door or window.

    Fortifying the gun room

I have been thinking thru my home security measures to see where I can stiffen my defenses against possible burglary. I have a two-story townhouse in which I utilize a downstairs bedroom with a walk-in closet as my gun/hobby room. In the walk in closet I have a Remington RSC which holds all the...

    Australian L1A1 value?

I have recently aquired a Aussie L1A1 imported by Eden Intl, Palm Bay Florida. I believe these were imported in the 80's. The rifle has the Trilux sight, but the red illumination knob is broken off. Otherwise, the rifle is correct and clean. What can I expect as to value?

PTR-91 cocking handle requires Herculean effort

Dave R, Yes I agree, it should not be that hard. But I tried more than 5 examples of the PTR-91 that my dealer had, while looking for the best trigger, and they were ALL like this.

PTR-91 cocking handle requires Herculean effort

I added a new .308 MBR to my stable yesterday. A new JLD PTR-91 G3 clone. I was able to get off work early and put 200 rounds thru this badboy today and man, am I happy about this purchase. The only bone-stock .308 semi-auto I have that shoots better is a NM M1A at 3 times the price. This little...

    Simple paracord sling

I *think* I recall seeing a thread here about how to make a field expedient sling out of paracord or comparable cordage. Can someone point me in the right direction about how to go about doing this... This will be on a Carbon-15 Bushmaster rifle, just need something that I can whip up to get...

    Thompson + hollowpoints?

I have an Auto-Ordinance TM1 that I have shot about a case and a half of various .45 ACP thru in the last 6 months. Great gun, and I really appreciate the forearms I am getting from holding the beast up! Well, I was wondering if any of you guys and gals have had any luck running hollowpoints...

    HK USC conversion

I have recently aquired a HK USC that has been modified to use grease-gun mags. I pretty much love this gun, but I was wondering if I could get even closer to the style and look of a UMP. I know I must complete a Form 1 with all the pursuant paperwork to be able to chop the barrel but must I...

    A moral problem

chaim, I understand completely, sir. I will treat her fairly because I can honestly evaluate the collection and even pay for a second opinion out of my own pocket. I have also seen a loss here. The world is a little worse for having lost a kind, gentle man who's main passion in life was...

    A moral problem

I thank you all for the replies. Of course, I want to do the right thing in this situation. I think that a letter of the sort Dienekes suggesteed is appropriate. His primary interest was in Curios and Relics of the WWII era, which happens to be my prime focus in my already substantial collection...

    A moral problem

A moral problem Recently, a close friend of my extended family suffered a sudden heart attack and died. He was my uncles best friend, and attended all of our functions and gatherings, and I always talked to him about shooting and collecting and so forth. He was a wealth of Mauser knowledge and...
