    Brake/Compensator hole size

The many fine holes bled the pressure and the lack of decibels lead to it being defined at a "silencer". I was wondering if one could make a compensator with fine holes that would have the same decibel level at the muzzle as a non-ported barrel, but would direct the noise away from the shooter.

    Brake/Compensator hole size

I was talking to a local gunsmith and he was telling me about a smith who used to do "ported" barrels with a lot of really small holes, the result was no muzzle blast at all and a big fight with the American Takers of Fun.

    Brake/Compensator hole size

I have been looking for a Brake/Compensator for my 7.62 bolt and was wondering about the correlation between the size of the holes and the perceived volume. Do larger holes equate to more noise and blast for those standing near and smaller holes for less blast? I'm leaning towards a linear...

Recoil reducing muzzle brake that doesn't irritate other shooters

Thanks for all the good info. The reason I want to reduce the recoil is that I would like my wife to be able to shoot it more than once and I would like to avoid the purple shoulder after a box or two at the range. Just for the record it is an A2 SMLE with a 18" barrel and an aluminum butt...

Recoil reducing muzzle brake that doesn't irritate other shooters

Thanks for the info. I thought that was the case in CA having read the regs for work quite a few times, but I am always hopeful for a loop hole. I'm trying to reduce the weight/length/recoil of the rifle (2A 7.26) for hunting and so that my wife can shoot if comfortably (more than once)...

Recoil reducing muzzle brake that doesn't irritate other shooters

Not being into NEF stuff much I have a dumb question: Some have suggested a supressor, I know there is the $200 transfer tax, is there an ongoing license issue with that as well or is it a once done deal? Thanks for all the great information (P.S. someone was charged recently with a silencer...

Recoil reducing muzzle brake that doesn't irritate other shooters

I am looking for a muzzle brake for my .308 bolt and would like to reduce the recoil, but I would like to avoid blasting those around me (and my own hearing). Any recommendations?

    Baltic Birch plywood rifle stock

I'm partial to walnut or curly maple. The reason I was contemplating the plywood (Finish aircraft grade, ultrasounded) was I am toying with making a stock like this one: Kel-Tec SU-16A With the mag wells and thought that the plywood might be stronger that normal. Plain wood with steel...

    Baltic Birch plywood rifle stock

I am considering making a custom stock for my 2A Ishapore (7.26 NATO) and was wondering if baltic birch plywood could be used. Or rather I was wondering why it shouldn't be used. Thanks, Ben
