    Cattaraugus 225Q question

OK guys, you wanna see some more pics, so here they are. Not belt sanded but yes, very lightly sanded to remove minor blemishes. This was maybe 30 yrs ago. The steel butt and blade surfaces were steelwool burnished with light oil too. No makeover, no tricks! :D The only minor defect is cosmetic...

    Cattaraugus 225Q question

I have a 225Q originally owned by a WW2 veteran relative who carried or had it issued to him. Its in pretty nice condition, but never sharpened in 50+ yrs of my possession so its edge is quite dull. Unsure if prudent to do so now due to relic status? I never had a sheath for it and originals...

Cane for self defense? Please explain......

It seems to me (fortunately, without regular need to rely on such) an interesting corollary that a heavy cane or walking stick works best defensively for those who don't tend to walk far using them, whereas a lighter cane works best for those who cover more distance. As such, I chose a...

Cane for self defense? Please explain......

Ironically (to me, anyway) is that lack of weight was a major consideration in choosing to buy a C-S "Slim Stick" as a hiking aid alternative. I've owned a stout carved wood hiking staff for years which just hangs on the wall to display its unique tree wizard carvings. Its really too heavy, IMO...

Cane for self defense? Please explain......

Well, its neither wood nor Made in USA if those aspects are important to you. I own a couple of Cold Steel walking sticks, but not their plastic Irish Blackthorn replica.

How Many are Now Carrying a Cane?

I looked for stainless (to complement silver-black weave of my carbon fiber stick), with 1.5" diameter and metric M8 tapped. My prior link to Carr Lane ball knobs also shows a machined flat on center with tapped hole, which happens to match my stick's top diameter perfectly. Also to mention...

How Many are Now Carrying a Cane?

Interesting, although a quick look didn't show any already drilled and tapped. For reference, the 316 stainless, 1.5" diameter M8 threaded ball knob I bought for my Slim Stick mentioned above was produced by Carr Lane. Click on the embedded link for full specifications and part numbers. I bought...

How Many are Now Carrying a Cane?

Without meaning to flame, I'm curious how you managed to quote my text, fully snipped 4+ hrs before you posted a reply? Perhaps it was in draft reply mode during those hours? Oh well... For those unaware, Cold Steel's products (including specialty category "sticks") are all, sadly...
