Well... I use velcro, taped to the BBl, and taped to a piece of 2 1/2' wide poster board, which I then paint black. Use this as a heat shield over the Bbl from just below and behind the front of the scope, and up to just about the muzzle. It is removable and it stops mirage.

All the above is great. Korean Ball ammo shoots well and is reletively inexpensive, M-2 ball. If you are reloading DO NOT EXCEED 50,000 cup and stick close to the 150 gr. bullet, no 180gr high pressure or you will find parts like a yard sale.
