    .243 Dies ?

FWIW I love my Lee stuff. I have thought about trying some of the other brands, but so far have not been able to justify fixing what isn't broke. Jeff

    Brass Per Pound

Admins, would this be something that is Sticky worthy? I sell my brass across a scale and I'm sure this would be a great assistance to others as well. Thanks. Jeff

    Brass Per Pound

These numbers are near identical to mine. If you don't have a counting scale, you can do the math with these numbers above. One caveat that was not mentioned, is these numbers appear to be when the brass still has the primers in it. If you are weighing deprimed brass YMMV. Jeff

    Springfield XDs

Mainsail, be sure to check the roll pin that goes through the slide and holds the spring and firing pin assembley in the slide. These have been known to break from dry firing or whatever. I think there is an upgraded pin that you can get that is supposed to be stronger. I have two XD pistols and...

    New to reloading

I'm new to the reloading process too. I started with 9mm for several reasons. Brass is readily available and relatively low powder charge keep the cost down. Also the straight wall cases are more forgiving to the novice. Good luck, I'm really enjoying it. Jeff

Help. My 30-06 is beating me to death

Thanks everyone. Lot of good information here and I'm learning a lot. I really like Creature's shoulder pad. I may try one of those. I'll break down my shooting history a little. I am good with the .22s and have been shooting them since forever. Now with the centerfire I am experienced with the...

Help. My 30-06 is beating me to death

I was shooting from a bench with no support but me for the rifle. Intended use is food on the table. I will try again with a sandbag and shoulder relief. Glad to hear that what I was doing was probably causing me the pain. I could not get it sighted in due to being distracted by what I knew was...

Help. My 30-06 is beating me to death

I have a brand new Ruger American 30-06. I shot it for the first time today, and after 6 rounds I couldn't go on. I am 6'1" 210lb. I am holding the rifle firm against my shoulder, and it felt like my old 300 win mag. Is this a manufacturer issue or maybe I need to go down to .243 or even .308. I...

My First Rifle (Ruger 10/22) Could Use Your Help

I just dumped a box of the Thunderbolt through my brand new 10/22 this weekend. What this means is foghornl is exactly right. Every rifle is different. Mine may hate one of the top recommended brands. Buy little boxes of different brands and see what you and your gun like. I was taught on...

You'd think it'd be easy to find !

Interesting topic. Today at the range I was toying around with my Dad's old 20 gauge 870 Wingmaster and dumping off some old ammo. It was heavy dove shot on the human silohouette target at ten yards, due to the fact that most HD scenarios are going to be in this range or less. Long story short...

    Model 70 30-06

The Firing Line forum helped identify it. It is a Model 70A also referred to as the Ranger. $250? Haven't seen any Model 70 go for that, even if its been beat. Thanks for the info though. I disassembled and cleaned it today and I'm not seeing any wear marks which leads me to believe it probably...
