    Who's a fan of the Brit .303 No4 Mk1

I picked up a no 1 mk III at christmas. The guy I bought it from has owned it since 1975 and had 3 sessions with it since then. Its in mint condition with matching numbers and I only paid about a third of what the sell for in Australia. Needless to say I'm a very happy lad. Can anyone help me...

    .308 tikka handloads

Hi guys, just thought I'd give an update. Went to the range today and tested loads from 42.5 to 45 grains in half grain increments.44.5 grains put 3 shots into 14mm (just over 1/2") at 200m (220yds). This is easily best load I have found to date. I have normally steered away from compressed...

    Scope change decision. Help

I'll agree with tori on that one. I've never owned a leupold but a lot of guys I shoot with use them ( haven't heard of a failure yet). If you're looking for a cheap scope, I've never had problems with nikko stirling. They are not in the same league as leupold but they aren't supposed to be...

    training?

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me with any training/dry fire exercises I can do to be a better marksman. I shoot a tikka varmint in .308 competitively out to 500 metres with no wind flags or markers on the target. While it isn't 1000 yd shooting, it takes a bit to put 5 shots on a 2" bull...

    .308 tikka handloads

Thanks ussr. Gonna load some warmer ones up today (hopefully get to the range and test tomorrow) I've been getting around 3" groups with 5 shots at 300 metres with the 42 gr load but always looking to improve (aren't we all?)

What is the last gun that you bought?

Picked up a smle no1 mk3*. Lithgow manufacture. Mint "as issued" condition. Had less than 200 rds since 1975. Pretty stoked with it. Still working on loads though.

    Analysis of a reloading failure

Thanks. Just read this thread and thought I'd better clarify things. As I said, I don't shoot handguns (have to jump through too many hoops in Aus).

    .308 tikka handloads

Thanks. Been working from the same 4kg bottle. Your loads seem a bit warmer than mine which is what I expected. Just thought I'd ask the question, went back through my load book and found I was using the same weight of a much slower powder and it didnt seem right. I'm not looking for the fastest...

    Analysis of a reloading failure

I'm new to the forum and don't shoot handguns. I load 223 rem, 308 win and 303 brit for my rifles. I fired a friends ruger revolver recently. He was feeding me with 38 cartridges to start and later gave me some 357 that chambered and fired (with noticably more punch) in the same gun. Is this...

    .308 tikka handloads

Hi, I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can help me. I've been shooting competition out to 500m with a tikka t3 varmint in .308 and a load using 168gn hornady hpbt over 42 gns ar2208 (sold in usa as varget). Recently bought some 168 gn a-max and went to load them but found 42 gns seems very...
