I'll agree with tori on that one. I've never owned a leupold but a lot of guys I shoot with use them ( haven't heard of a failure yet). If you're looking for a cheap scope, I've never had problems with nikko stirling. They are not in the same league as leupold but they aren't supposed to be...

Picked up a smle no1 mk3*. Lithgow manufacture. Mint "as issued" condition. Had less than 200 rds since 1975. Pretty stoked with it. Still working on loads though.
