    Gun Podcasts

Hi all, I'm trying to add more great gun podcasts to my listening library. I've always loved Michael bane, the gun nation and a lot of the stuff on the Firearms Radio Network. Any other favorites out there?

S&W Model 60 Cylinder Release Failure

Thanks guys! I didn't know if anyone had "worked" on it but they very well could have. Well, off to find a replacement bolt!

S&W Model 60 Cylinder Release Failure

Hello all! Thought some of you might find this interesting. Out at the range the other day with my S&W Model 60 (early 70's vintage I believe) I fired five shots, a reload, then five more shots. I tried opening the cylinder and I could not. Only after i disassembled the gun could I get it open...

    The 32-20

I really enjoy shooting the .32-20. I load for a S&W Hand Ejector in .32-20. I use trail boss powder for light loads. The one major problem for me is that the brass near the casemouth can be PAPER thin on some cases. You tend to lose some brass because it buckles. Enjoy yourself! It's a great...

Why weren't moon clips & the revolvers that used them more popular with police?

Thank you for the responses everyone! That pretty much answers it. I haven't had much experience with moon clips so I did not realize the fragility of them. Thanks!!

Why weren't moon clips & the revolvers that used them more popular with police?

Hello all!! Thanks for the great responses on the Handgun myths rumors and urban legends question I posted a few weeks ago. I have a quick question though regarding mid 1900s police revolvers. I know that .38 Special and other rimmed revolver rounds were the standard police sidearm, but my...

    Handgun Myths/Rumors/ Urban Legends

Thank you EVERYONE for your valuable posts and discussions in this thread. I got so many suggestions that I had to pick just a few for the show, but I have written down most all of them and will probably do a "Firearms Fallacies" Part II sometime in the future. Thank you all so much for the...

    Handgun Myths/Rumors/ Urban Legends

Oh I knew it was way wrong when I saw it. It was a book called "Guns of Law Enforcement" and it was clearly intended for a younger crowd. I knew enough from reading magazines and forums that that was total BS. At least I didn't believe John McClane and say that "it's not plastic! It's a Glock...

    Handgun Myths/Rumors/ Urban Legends

rcmodel, I completely agree with you on the .25 ACP thing. While it may not instantly STOP an attack, it still hurts! My grandfather who used to carry a small .22 revolver used to say "I don't give a damn what anyone says about caliber; ain't nobody that wants to get shot with anything. Anybody...

    Handgun Myths/Rumors/ Urban Legends

Thanks for the great responses everyone! And Joesolo, i remember that Glock being undetectable garbage. I'm 24, and i remember renting a book from my JR. High library about guns that had a section on Glocks that said "96% Plastic, Glocks can easily pass through metal detectors". Being a smartass...

    Handgun Myths/Rumors/ Urban Legends

Hello Everyone! First off, let me thank everyone on this forum for many hours of reading pleasure. Although I don't post on here very often, many an hour of my time is spent perusing and enjoying the discussions here. I am currently hosting a new podcast called Handgun Radio on the Firearms...

    Which S&W .357?

An old 586 or a new production 586? How much do you plan on shooting heavy 357 Magnum loads or will you mainly be shooting .38's?

OPINION: What Do You Believe To Be The Best .32 Auto Ever Made?

The Colt 1903 is a great .32. I really enjoy the NAA automatics in .32 ACP as well.

Thanks for the responses everyone. You all have really given me some insight into the hammer dilemma. I really appreciate it. Ryan

Bobbed hammer to replace factory Model 60 hammer?

Palmetto did you have the gunsmith knurl or serrate the tiny area at the top of the hammer where it meets the top strap so you could thumbcock it? Thanks!

Bobbed hammer to replace factory Model 60 hammer?

Thanks for the response rc. I've been getting into pocket carry and have had the hammer snag a couple times but I will try that thumb trick. I believe my model 60 is a -3 model (I could be wrong however)

Bobbed hammer to replace factory Model 60 hammer?

Hello all! I've done some searching but so far have come up empty. Does anyone know where I can find a bobbed hammer for a Smith & Wesson Model 60? I'd like to try carrying it with a bone hammer, but don't want to ruin my factory hammer in case I decide I want to go back to that config. Does...

Uberti Rolling Block Pistol in .22LR?

Maybe they'll come out with one in .45 LC! I wish they'd just make them again, in ANY caliber.

Uberti Rolling Block Pistol in .22LR?

It was pretty bulky for a .22, but it was one of the most accurate .22 handguns I've ever fired. It was almost like I didn't even have to try, it just pointed beautifully. I agree, I'd love to see it in .38 Special or even some older cartridges like .32-20 or .44-40.
