    Capacity or Reliability?

I carry either my Ruger SP101 .357mag Spurless 2.25in loaded with Speer GD .357mag 125gr (5 shot), or my SA XDS 9mm loaded with Speer GD 124gr +P (7 or 9 + 1), and am comfortable with either (one SS or SL or one mag extra). Both have been ultra reliable since day one. As far as reloading, I...

Advice on a pocket 2" revolver

My Ruger KLCR .357mag jammed on a cylinder full of Corbon DPX 125gr .357mag ammo about a year ago. I contacted Corbon and they responded with "it is a common problem in lightweight revolvers shooting .357mag among all ammo manufacturers". The VP of Sales also advised me to read the warning in...

Replacement front sight for J-Frame Snubby suggestions?

Another for the XS Big Dot. Works great on my Ruger KLCR.357mag.

    5 Star speedloaders

I found it difficult to reload my Ruger KLCR.357mag with HKS loaders, found the 5-Star, no problem. 5-Star has Speedloaders made specifically for the LCR. Also, I like the fact they are metal and not plastic, easier to handle for me. I also use them for my Ruger SP101 .357mag with Hogue Pau...

How are you carrying your J-Frame?

I carry my Ruger KLCR.357mag "cross draw" OWB. Sit and drive mostly, very comfortable and with easy access. Some say it's harder to conceal, but I have never had a problem with the right holster. Others criticize CD as dangerous, etc., however for every "problem" brought up, there are two...

I learned a lot about our Ruger LCR

Just a note. Read the directions for "sight picture" for the Big Dot, both from Ruger and XS if available. You have to set the Dot in the crux of the back sight, and "cover" your POI with the Dot to hit anticipated POA. It works for me beautifully at any range. YMMV. Be safe.

Need a recommendation for a Small, flat 9mm for dalily carry.

Another recommendation to look at the Kahr CM9. I alternate carry with a Ruger KLCR .357mag, however the Kahr conceals a little better. Loaded with Speer GD 124gr+P 9mm, and extra mag, feel comfortable anytime. Lightweight, super (albeit longer-safety here folks!) trigger, highly concealable...

I learned a lot about our Ruger LCR

I also carry the Ruger KLCR .357mag for SD, loaded with Winchester PDX1+P 130gr, or CorBon DPX 110gr .357mag when available in my area. I use the same grip method explained by ares338, tighter with the support hand and find them more than comfortable to shoot. Practice ammo is always a .38spl...

    Summer Carry Gun

Either a Kahr CM9 9mm, or Ruger KLCR .357mag, all year. Both are light, highly concealable in many ways, reliable in their own way (revolver-inherent, auto-many flawless rounds), and very accurate.

High ride, no thumbstrap, pancake holster

Wait for the Mitch Rosen, it'll be worth it. I bought one each for my Ruger KLCR .357mag and my Kahr CM9. I couldn't be happier with all aspects of the MR, construction, fit, draw, holds tight to body, etc. My favorite holster for both firearms easily, and use them 95% of the time. Time will...

    Best auto for CCW

Another recommendation for the Kahr CM9 from me. Absolutely the best in it's class IMO.

    357 ruger lcr

I love my Ruger KLCR .357mag which I purchased for $450 OTD. I carry it on a daily basis loaded with either Speer GD 125gr .357mag or Speer GD 135gr .38spl+P Short Barrel IWB or OWB Crossdraw. Easily concealed, sweet trigger, very accurate (even at longer distances), and contrary to some...

What is the best factory .357 load for self-defense?

The .357mag cartridge is the ultimate carry caliber for ME. Results from tests AND real life reports give the 110-125gr load the nod on efficiency and power. I use anything from the WWB 110gr .357mag (mostly for target practice, etc.) through the Speer GD 125gr .357mag for carrying SD, in my...

    edc

EDC: Ruger KLCR .357mag, loaded with either Speer GD 125gr .357mag or Speer GD 135gr .38spl+P Short Barrel, a Ken Onion "Leek" model folder clipped on pocket, a spare speed strip with said ammo, Original Wilderness Trainer Belt, and a good deal of SA.

I need a good gun belt!

I've had a Wilderness Original for over a week now. Love it. It can be worn from hunting through dress casual and still look good. The 5 Stich is stiff but very controllable to fit and comfortable to wear. IMO.

What SD ammo do you carry

In my 9mm Kahr CM9 I use CorBon DPX 115gr +P, and in my Ruger KLCR I use either Speer Gold Dot 125gr .357mag or Speer Gold Dot 135gr .38spl+P Short Barrel. Both selections have shown to be above average in all ballistic categories and function well in each firearm.

    enough is enough?

Very similar ballistic results from numerous tests posted, I think either the Speer Gold Dot 125gr in .357mag or almost any 125gr for SD (if you can control/manage the recoil for second shot-if needed) or the Speer Gold Dot 135gr+P SB in .38spl will give you more than adequate results when...

    carrying with a belly

Might try crossdraw at 9:15-9:30 (if right handed). Neck and shoulder problems prevent me to comfortably draw from the strong side, although 2:30 isn't too bad. I gave crossdraw and good try and really like it now, especially while seated or driving. I use a OWB strong side holster, Mitch Rosen...

    Revolver newbie

Check out the Ruger KLCR .357mag/.38spl. Excellent smooth trigger, innovative design, multiple caliber selection, concealable, lightweight, manageable recoil, and fairly priced.

    Kahr CM9 reliable enough?

After so much research about small 9mm's my eyes hurt, I bought the Kahr CM9. I absolutely love this pistol. Excellent quality construction, technically advanced trigger ("long pull" serves it's purpose-SAFETY!), "tight" for a reason-longevity of use, "clone of PM9"-time proven reliability)...
