Tuner, It's not actually in my possession. My neighbor is an older gentleman that served in the army. He has been tirelessly looking for a 1911 army issue from 1913. I believe that was the year in which his father served. I have been helping him with the photos that he has been sending me. I...
Smalls, I apologize but you are incorrect. Springfields were issued 1914-1917 because colt couldn't keep up with the demand. At least according to the last serial number website that I took a look at. I may be incorrect but I am judging this off of a serial number website.
Hi guys, Can anyone help me identify this gun? I realize that it is a Springfield Armory 1911 that was once army issued. According to the research that I have looked at online, The serial number that is on the frame doesn't match the serial numbers in which Springfield produced 1911's during...
I don't believe it's any sort of prototype nor did I ever. I was just under the assumption that it could have been GI issue which I believe it what he is looking for. Thanks for the help guys. After reading everything that you have said, I think I will advise him to pass.
Bannockburn, I was actually told something similar on another forum. Would this be a more common colt in terms of age and value? Or is this something that is actually more sought after. I have seen colts in similar condition sale for varying prices.
Pablo: I'm not actually the one looking for...
I think the owner is asking $1100. Would that be a stretch in terms of pricing? I just confirmed with my neighbor that the seller says it is marked US property. Does that make any difference? I wish I had more photos to post for you guys to see but this is all I have at the moment.
Hi guys, I was speaking with my neighbor and he said that he has ran across a colt 1911-a1 that is for sale. We spoke for a bit about it in passing a few days ago. Tonight, we actually talked about it. He doesn't know a whole lot about the gun but he is considering buying it. He's an old timer...
I am certain that it is a SA-85 stock. I agree with the above member about the Romak stocks. Everyone I have seen has been cut out.
To ROB:
My trigger group has not been moved forward. I am assuming that this will cause an issue with bolting the stock. Any way to remedy this other than...
Yeah... I was thinking maadi as well. It's not quite as blonde as the MAK stocks that I have. It's actually a good looking stock. Any way I could actually use this on my saiga? Any thoughts?
I purchased this stock on ebay a few months ago. I purchased it for my saiga. The gentleman told me that it was a direct take off from a saiga that was imported with a thumbhole stock. I'm not sure if this is true or not. Here are some photos. Any help identifying would be awesome. Thanks guys.
