Thanks again! I ditched the idea of see through mounts & ordered a Weaver base. I think I'll just mount a scope on it permanently. We have other shotguns for shooting clays.

Thanks for your input! I was wongering about the recoil of the 12 gauge....... I was told by one "gunsmith" that fiber optic sights aren't available for that gun. I may just follow some friends suggestions of either neon nail polish or flourescent (sp?) paint & doing it myself.....

Hi, Sure hope everyone is having a nice day. Recently my father bought a LC Smith double barrel hammerless 12 ga shotgun. The guy Dad bought it from claims it's an 1898 vintage, but has no proof. Where is the serial number(s)? Also, if & when I find them, is there any website to look them...
