I recently got a new rifle in 30-06 and was shooting some reasonable 1.5 moa (100 yd) groups with Federal Powershocks.
I had also had some surplus POF 30-06. I didn't expect it to be super accurate but was surprised by how bad it was. The groups opened up to ~8 in at 100 yards. Is this...
I did google it, but I was unsure of what would be considered "readily accessible for immediate use" (http://www.le.utah.gov/code/TITLE76/htm/76_10_050100.htm). Probably should just get a CWP to make sure I stay on the right side of the law.
Is it considered carrying concealed to have a pistol in a backpack, where one would have to remove the backpack to reach the pistol, when in Utah. Could anyone point me to the relevant law that law that defines what concealed carry is and is not in Utah?
Thanks!
I would not be against some sort of mandatory information presented to gun buyers, at the time of purchase. Something along the lines of the four rules, how to make the gun safe, and how to properly install a gun lock. A little information can go a long way, especially for people who may not...
Are you not the same people vilify anything not purely capitalist?
This is not price gouging, these prices are not any anything anyone really needs. If food, fuel, and medicine were suddenly inflated in price as a result of an emergency that would be price gouging. Ammo, firearms and...
I agree with all the positives above, but it is an incredibly loud round. At least as compared to 30-06 or .270. I shot one round at a deer with a 270 WSM - that was a mistake, my ears were ringing for a month (I always use ear plugs on a hunt now).
Although I wouldn't support a complete ban on leaded ammunition, many of the debates on leaded hunting ammunition turn into polarized debates between the 2nd amendment groups and anti gunners, while loosing sight of the real problems and not looking for workable solutions.
I think leaded ammo...
I just bought a new muzzle loader (CVA Elkhorn) and was putting set screw plugs in the scope mounting holes and was a little surprised about how deep they are relative to the thickness of the chamber. I don't think this is unique to this rifle (although I haven't got any out to look), but am...
I have watched some ulta slow motion videos on youtube, more of bullet impacts than firearms operating but they might be worth a look:

This one has a few shots of actions during firing.

Some good suggestions! I agree that a .22 would be a pretty good fit, but the upland game regs in my state say I have to use shot. That H&R Tamer looks awfully tempting.
How difficult is it to add threads for a choke tube if I were to get a barrel shortened (any idea how much a gunsmith...
I have started backcountry skiing this winter and bringing a shotgun along for when I would run across a grouse or cottontail (or at least when they were still in season). I have been bringing my Mossberg 500, which is just too much to have over the shoulder all day, flopping around and...
