    CZ75 polished stainless pic

This is sort of my grail gun. I've had a couple of 75's in the past, but cannot get over the beauty of this one. I got it like new, with everything you see on the cheap. I've been blessed with great deals this past year!

Ruger Blackhawk. What would you do?

I recently bought a new Blackhawk .357 off Gunbroker and had it delivered to my ffl. As many of these stories go, after getting home, I discovered that the front sight has a ding / flatened are on the left side of the sight. It is interesting that it a blued over, and not white metal. But when I...

    Ruger Blackhawk American Liberty

I'm looking at pictures of an extremely nice Ruger Blackhawk .357 made in 1976. I was just wondering if the build qualty was superior on Rugers this old as compared to a newer model? Price is 400 which I think is fair. But a newer one can be had at a similar price...Thanks.

    S&W 586 As Investment?

If I move quickly, I can grab a NIB...ok, used but unfired blued 586 no dash 4" in box, with papers for 600, maybe 580. It looks unmolested. Worthy investment if I kept it in this condition down the road for 8 years? Thanks!

    Kahr K40 question

On my K40, ser. # DF78xx, there is no rollpin visible on the right side of the frame, just in front of the slide stop pin. All pics of the 40 I've seen have it, as well as many 9mms. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!

Which Hi Power would you carry?

So I intend to start carrying one of my HP's on a regular basis. They're both mintish, and I know it will eventually start to show wear. One is a Browning Practical. The other is an FN Hi Power in bright blue. I do realize that the blued is not up to neglect or it will rust. That's not even an...

    Makarov action question

I have 2 Bulgy Makarovs. When I dry fire one in DA, and to a lesser extent in SA, the muzzle will jump to the right no matter how hard I try to control the squeeze. My second Mak with a comparable pull stays dead steady , both DA and SA. It seems as if the hammer on the first one is...

Passed up a nice Hi Power

I currently have a BHP Practical and an FN bright blue HP. At the show today there was a NIB FN Hi Power, enamel finish, (newer roll marks) with 3-10 rd mags for 525 OTD. I passed due to the low caps and the fact that I have 2 already. It is one of my favorites though. I'm wondering if anyone...

    Coach Gun firing pin question

I purchased a LN (in appearance) Stoeger Coach Gun from a gun show for a great price, and think it has a problem. I did not want to dry fire it at the show, so I did not notice this until I got it home. After dry firing the right barrel (not a good practice I understand) the firing pin stays in...

    Hard to find GP100's?

I posted this on the Ruger forum, but no response so far. Thought I'd try here... At a recent show, I noticed some brand new stainless 4" GP's with fixed sights, both short and long lugs chambered in .357. There was also a short lug blue one in .357. I thought they would be .38's? Unusual? (I...

    Smitten with the 3" GP-100's

I thought I'd never say this. Even though I have not gotten a chance to fire it yet, I cannot believe how great this revolver feels. I like it so much, I am waiting on a second one to arrive. 2 blue ones. I suspect I will have a 3rd in stainless. The only reason I go on, is that I have a S&W 65...

    New GP100 question

Just today I bought a NIB blue GP100 with the 3" barrel. After dry firing it no more than 25 times a very distinct turn line has developed. It is almost fully through the bluing. None of my S&W's have done this. Is this a Ruger trait, or is something amiss? I applied some flitz to the cylinder...

    Penetration question.

I had a similiar question a few weeks ago, but this is what I have to work with for now. For camping in bear country in the Northwest: I now have a Benelli 8 shot 12 ga. that will be loaded with slugs. For back up until I get the .44, it will have to be: 1. Glock 19 with 16 124 gr. FMJ or...

    CDNN FN Hi Power Pics

I've seen several questions in regard to the bargain basement Hi Powers at CDNN. These are 2 of them. One polished blue, one enamel. The lighter grips are also from CDNN. They have slight thumb rests and the checkering is sharp and nicely executed. No fitting required. I'm extremely pleased with...

    Bear Question

I will probably be moving to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle area) and will camp in the Cascades occasionally. The "heaviest hitting" caliber I own currently is a .357 N frame model 28 with 6" barrel. Right now I can purchase a .44 of some sort, but what I really want is a friend's new in...

    Browning A-5 good investment?

Hello. Today I met a 75 year old gentleman who purchased a new 16 ga. A-5 around 1954 or so. In 50 years, he states that he had put 2 boxes of shells through. I examined it, and it sure looks to be true. The wood and bluing would be in 95% or better. It has a 26" modified choke barrelNo vented...

    Need honest 1911 opinion

Hello. I will soon be owning a new Dan Wesson Guardian Deuce which is a Commander sized weapon. I had a certain amount of cash to spend and have missed my Colt 1991 Commander since I foolishly sold it years ago. Anyway, I could have had a new Colt Commander 1991 with the NRM for just a little...
