Excellent post . I have the same revolver from Ruger, just not Lipsey. Anxious to give your recommendation a try. Think I'd be alright with a Berry's plated 240gr8 flattop as long as I didn't push it too fast?

I just recently purchased the same Ruger .44spl (not a Bisley though) as the OP and have been just been loading some light mild loads for target shooting. Want to go a little hotter and this article sure gave me some good information. Love the gun.

I have a.357 Ruger Blackhawk that I bought in Jan. 1973. $86.95 out the door. I love it. Give the guy $400 if it looks good. To me it would be worth it.

Thanks for posting those two pictures. That's the exact same bullet I have been loading in .44 Spl for my Ruger Blackhawk. I use a Dillon 550 and don't seem to have any trouble with the crimp. Mind sharing the powder and load you're using??

I haven't been reloading to very long so don't flame me for a stupid question, please. I've been loading 147gr 9mm Berry's RN using 3.7-3.8gr Win231.with a COAL of 1.150"-1.158". Would this same load be OK to use on some 124gr Berry's RN or should I increase the charge and/or OAL? Appreciate any...
