This may have been stated before, but please make sure you can operate all the controls (mag release, slide lock/release) with just your firing hand without "breaking"(changing) your active firing grip to do so. .

Your gun should have come with a tool kit, and in it is 2-3 sizes of that mag release. Super easy to change out, and you can even completely leave all the release buttons off, and the remaining button is extremely low profile, yet still very functional.

Canik mags have been coming in to a few places, but are getting sold out quickly. Have to subscribe to the auto notice if you want a chance at'em... it'll get better.

The Rival is fantastic. My favorite full size 5" striker, and Caniks Elite Combat is my favorite compact striker. I've owned or shot most offerings out there... from Sigs to Glocks, HKs, Walthers, CZs, Ruger, S&W, Springfield, Beretta, Archon... etc...

I've own all 3, with thousands of rounds thru them all and the Canik Rival, and Elite Combats are better overall and significantly better triggers than the HK VP9 or PDP. However ergos (grip) on VP 9 and PDP are best at about 9 to 10 out of 10, while Canik is close at 8 out of 10.

Can you tell us which review H.O. said the PDP trigger was better than the Rival?

I agree, thatched roofs actually feel better to the hand, much softer than 3 tab or Arch 80... must be better.
