AR 15 Stripped Lower Pistol vs Rifle

I am going to be purchasing a couple AR15 stripped lowers on Friday for undetermined future builds. Does it matter if I mark the 4473 form handgun, rifle, or other? I plan to build a AR pistol at some point but don't know which if either of these lowers will be the pistol.

    45-70: New cartridge

I posted on this a few years back and the majority advised IMR 3031. You can load it anywhere from mild to wild. My personal load which is a little rough on the shoulder but its not like I am going to should more than a couple at any given time. Sierra 300gr HP/FN 55 gr IMR 3031 runs...

    OMG...they have primers...

Sounds a lot like a little place I shop in Memphis. All the big box stores are sold out of everything but this place has an excellent selection of reloading components.

    Reloading reading/literature for beginners?

The ABC's of Reloading and the Lyman manual are the two I started with. Both were great. I also watched alot of Youtube videos but many of those included some less than safe methods....

    Lee Case Resizer Decapping pin

Lee will replace it without any issues. Go to their website and complete their warranty form. They usually request you to email a picture so its best just to go ahead and take one and upload it with the form. In the meantime, after taking the picture, I would JB Weld the pin in place so you...

    What else do I need?

Reloading manual is a must. Dies for each caliber. Lee makes a handy trimmer for each caliber that you can use with a drill. (Not needed for pistol calibers.) Some type of tool to remove the primer crimp on the 223 rounds. Even the Federal you buy at Walmart has the crimp. Tumblers are...

    reloading 40 s&W

I started reloading 2 years ago and have loaded over 4,000 rounds during that time for my Glock 23 which I use in IDPA and general plinking. I shoot some lead but mostly Berrys 165s. Never had an issue with case bulge or kabooms. I mostly use WSF but also load some Unique with good results.

    Transfer of Dangerous Goods?

Not sure how you would get them shipped. UPS only ships hazmat via ground. Hazmat is restricted from flying.

    digital copy of reloading books

I have been thinking about scanning my Lyman manual for my own personal use just havent done it yet. I did find out that Office Depot & Office Max has a cutter that will cut the spine off the book cleanly, and I have access to a large scanner/copier/printer that will scan both sides of the page...

"Houston, I have a problem" [ with static elec."

I always heard that gas heat would dry out the air during the winter months. A place I used to work hung bounty drier sheets from air ducts. I would definately try a inexpensive humidifier in the room and see if it helps. That some drier sheets and maybe some antistatic spray would be the...

    9mm Cast lead. Glock.

I've done it with both 9mm and 40 but did get a far amount of leading. I was using MBC bullets over Unique for both calibers. I found that if I loaded a couple plated bullets in every mag it helped clean out the leading. Never blew anything up or hurt anything by doing it. I did decide that...

    Redding #2 or RCBS 505

If you google "RCBS Mexico" you will see various people on different forums discussing this. Here is a link to one of the discussions earlier this year. http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=84957

    Lee Reloading Equipment

i started reloading 2 years ago and have used a Lee scale up until now. Tried a couple of inexpensive electronic scales but found issues with them. I just ordered a used RCBS 505 from Ebay for a total of $40 shipping included. One word of caution on these is that the new ones are made in...

    Redding #2 or RCBS 505

Well I found a good deal on a used RCBS 505 so I went with it. After doing some more reasearch I found the new RCBS scales are being producted in Mexico and quality control has slipped some. The scales will be stamped either Made in New Jersey or Made in Mexico under the base. Thanks to...

    Redding #2 or RCBS 505

I am looking to upgrade my Lee beam scale to something easier to use but most importantly looking for accuracy for my rifle loads. Thinking about either the RCBS 505 or the Redding #2. What are your thoughts on this?

    Lead out of a Glock?

Both loads functioned great other than the leading. I just found that when buying lead bullets there isn't enough cost savings over plated rounds to justify the compliations of leading. 9mm 125 gr MBC RN loaded over a 4.5 gr of Unique. 40sw 140 gr MBC TCFP loaded over 5.8 gr of Unique.
