    Euroarms 1860 Colt

Euroarms is either out of business or close to it. I bought a Euroarms Zouave from Dixie gun works and returned it. I talked to Dixie and they told me that Euroarms quality was now very bad since they are running their inventory out as fast as possible.

    XDE

I traded my XDm 3.00 9mm in for the XDe 9mm. I love the XDe. It is lighter for carrying and the action is the same as my Sig 226. I much prefer a double action decocker to a striker fired.

    1861 Enfields

Some years ago I foolishly sold my Parker Hale 58 cal Enfield. How does the Pedersoli Enfield compare ? I know the Parker Hale would be generally better.

    EMF Winchester 73

I never liked shooting this rifle because the safety tab which Was depressed by the closing of the lever, was so hard to depress that it interfered with trigger squeeze. I removed the butt stock and saw a screw which appeared to put a strain on a flat spring which put tension on the safety tab...

    Winchester M50

I have my Dad's M50 serial number 7544 (serial numbers started at 1000). I remember reading that early M50's would fire with the barrel removed, through the chamber extension. This was caught by the ATF and Winchester made appropiate changes to prevent this being done. Is my M50 one of these...

    .17 Hmr

A few years ago all the gun magazine covers and articles were flooded with news on this cartridge. Now I never read much about it. Personally, I never saw exactly where it fitted in, or was not overlapped by the .22 rimfires. I bought a CZ-452 American, shot it once and haven't looked at it...

    Mossberg 500 action opening

I got my grandson a Mossberg 500C Bantam 2 barrel combination 20 gauge. Yesterday I sighted in the deer barrel. I rested the wooden forearm on a sand bag and upon firing normally, I noticed the action had fully opened, ejecting the fired hull. After repeating this several times I tried firing it...

Do I need to use magnum primers with deer loads for this rifle ? I'm loading Hornady 180 gn XTP's with 2400 and W296 powder. Also, what are good deer loads using these powders ?

    National Bullet Company

If it's on a credit card, better call the card company and have them handle a refund. If you wait till NBC goes bankrupt, you're out the money.

    Mi Garand Serial Numbers

10X, thanks for the information. I just wanted to find out if I have a rarity or was this a common happening ?

    Mi Garand Serial Numbers

The author of the Rifleman article is Bruce Canfield. I would think he would know what he is talking about. The last "production" M1 made (big ceremony with John Garand attending) serial # 6,084,405, was completed on May 17, 1957. However, M1 rifles were not assembled in sequential...

Mauser88 - the table you have a link to is "assigned serial number ranges", not actual produced receivers.

    Mi Garand Serial Numbers

The August 2006 issue of American Rifleman has an article on post-WWII Garands. On page 83 it states "The highest M1 serial number reported in government documents is 6,090,905." I purchased a spanking new M1 NM at the National Matches at Port Clinton, Ohio in 1965 for $148. The serial number is...
