Well I have a Socom 16 for years. I have found that its accuracy is very
dependent upon the ammo you use. It is very finicky about ammo. :banghead:
With average Machine gun surplus the groups at 100 yards are like 2 inches. With some Winchester Ridgeback it was terrible, like 8 inches...
An armed man will kill an unarmed man with boring regularity...
I am a big guy and that alone prevents/stops a lot of issues. But a little bad guy with a gun can kill me with ease if I do not also have a gun...
Guns are just tools. If they make you weak, then just about everything in...
If over the back of the receiver you will need a bent bolt mod in order to be able to rotate the bolt with the scope on.
Mount the scope as low as possible.
I just got my Grandfathers Remington restored to firing condition. It has full buckhorn rear sights on it.
I do not want to change them out due to wanting to keep the gun as is.
Just wondering how others have used this type of sights.
Small fine notch in the bottom has windage...
I saw this thread going down hill when I read the title.
The trouble is "Stopping Power" is a non-specific term. Like Knock Down.
We can measure energy in a bullet at a certain range, but along with energy, transfer and penetration need to be factored in how effective a bullet is on a...
Both of my Westernfields are really Mossbergs...
Find out who really made your gun and then look that companies equivalent gun up for pictures/parts.
A quick search listed it as Savage/Stevens model 520
Both are great guns and will do the job.
For me it was the grip angle and how the guns felt in my hands. I choose the XD40 due to that. Not that there was anything wrong with the Glock. Being a long time 1911 shooter the XD just felt more " natural" to me. Your experience may be different...
I think some of you need to not read things into posts that are not there and not be so defensive.
I said I saw too many uneducated yuppie dorks around here buy them back in the early 80s.
I did not call Glock owners dorks... I am sure most Glock owners do not qualify LOL
It was just that...
Since no one here carries 10mm ammo here, 45 acp because you can actually buy it and shoot it. Even that is getting hard to find these days... LOL
Only shot one 10mm auto. Loved the gun. But I own 45 and 40 autos
As stated the 40 is like a short light 10mm.
Similar to the 38 spl vs 357 mag
I chose it as the energy on impact is close to a 45acp. Smaller bullet moving faster. I found it to be a good balance of ballistics/energy/size/cost and you can swap barrels and shoot 357 sig too.
Glock show was informative.
Not a Glock guy myself. Sorry, but too many non-shooter yuppie types all ran out and bought Glocks around here. It was the trendy gun here back in the early 80s and that alone turned me off. Too many dorks went out and bought those when they first became big. I...
I would wait until you hear back. It might look like you are trying to sneak by your background...
Once you know why, you can take whatever action is open to you to get your gun rights back.
Use the force Luke!
:D
Resist the temptation of the dark side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks asside, Glocks to me are the yuppie guns at our range. The people who show up with them are newbies who buy them because they are "cool". They think hitting the paper at 25 yards from a rest is great...
Battle sidearm?
 When you absolutely have to stop someone on the first shot!
1911
It fires regardless of conditions, and it stops whatever it hits!
John Browning was a genius..... Accept no substitute.
I will leave the 9mm to you little guys... :D
I purchased the XD....
It just fits my hand better. I also like the no brains safety for a defence gun.
After having it I added a M6 Tactical Light/Laser site and also a longer match barrel. I call it the Frankinstein mode...
I can change it from stock to my Frankinstein mode and...
