    Changing Laminate Stock's Color???

So I just bought a Mini-14 5858 from Davidson's which I had never handled or seen in person, but the description and photo showed a stainless steel rifle with a gorgeous black/grey laminate stock. Problem comes when I receive the rifle and its actually black/green... not such a nice coloration...

    General use Rifle

I reallyappreciate the last few comments. A good point was made that I was trying to get one rifle to fit too many roles and preferences. I think 2 guns will have to be the way to go, a Rossi or Marlin leet in .38/.357 would have fit it all I think, but my GF wants a semiauto and doesn't want a...

marlin model 60 front sight removal help

it's just glued on, just whack it sideways with something like wood, no need to be gentle but make sure you don't scratch the barrel. Just a little sideways thump and problem solved. :)

    General use Rifle

Arsenal SGL-21s are selling these days for around if not MORE than the price of the K-var Vepr Pioneer... and an Arsenal doesn't have a RPK receiver and a thicker barrel. I know its heavy and costs x2 a Rossi lever in .38/.357, and a good bit more than a cheapie AK, and its more expensive than a...

    General use Rifle

Yes I am very inexperienced, guilty as charged. I'm trying to learn all I can on here but I can't really change that I prefer more traditional rifle over tacticool. I'll start taking a harder look into ARs. I dare say I think it's not a crime to prefer a 7.62x39 over a .223 or .308. I think I'm...

    General use Rifle

I'm enjoying the discussion and appreciate all the input! Maybe I should have said that I do have a tube fed Marlin xt-22 for plinking, and my GF has a Model 60. So I do have something for uber heap plinking, but I want to get a centerfire that I can practice with at longer ranges than a .22...

    General use Rifle

Sorry to everyone suggesting an AR, I'm just not a fan of the complexity of the mechanism and multiple ways to failure. I prefer lever/AK/Garand type actions. Simple engineering and easy maintenance is my preference. And I don't want to fork out a grand for a rifle. I don't know anything about...

    General use Rifle

Wow thank you everyone for your input, highly appreciated. I'm taking a look at the Rossi 92 in .357 since that does fit the bill pretty nicely. Great suggestion. The Circuit Judge is an appealing rifle, certainly quite unique and handy. Prohibitive ammo cost makes it less desirable though...

    General use Rifle

Hello! Brand new to THR and looking for some good advice on a general use rifle. I have already put a very considerable amount of time looking into this, but I am interested to hear some experienced opinions. So without further ado... I want a rifle primarily for plinking, but I want it to be...
