    Kahr CW40/45 vs Ruger LCR

I think I'm gonna go with the Kahr in either cw9, but probably the cw45 flavor. Thanks everyone for the replies.

    Kahr CW40/45 vs Ruger LCR

As I said earlier I've fired off 357 magnum from a scandium j frame. To be exact it was a box of 50, 125 grain. I don't think a 20 ounce 45 or 40 (in an automatic platform none the less) will be as punishing as that. I decided to take some stock photos and keep them scaled to manufacture...

    Kahr CW40/45 vs Ruger LCR

Even though the LCR is similar in size compared to the kahrs the common consensus seems to be it carry's better. As far as J frames I'm not a fan of there triggers. The Ruger LC9 is not uncomfortable but compared to the other guns it doesn't fit my hand as well. If I get the LCR it's gonna get...

    Kahr CW40/45 vs Ruger LCR

I've heard some mixed reviews about Kahrs . I think some of them have to do with proper gun break in but how many of them are just break in issues, I don't know. The LCR's trigger can not be understated for sure. Which is more concealable between the LCR and Kahr. For some reason I've heard...

    Kahr CW40/45 vs Ruger LCR

I purchased a Ruger Speed Six 2.75" (sweet gun) about a 6 months ago as a kind of an all around range, carry, plinker, woods gun and I think I underestimated the heft of this revolver. I tried it with an IWB holster @ 6'o clock and it was pulling my pants down. Anywhere else the gun seems to...

    Corrosive ammo warning Must READ!!

abelbridge, If you read the rest of the post you would see that I've looked down the bore before, I just said I've never looked down at it from the muzzle end to check the crown. I always clean (and look down) the bore from the receiver end as should be done.

    Corrosive ammo warning Must READ!!

elwoodm, I have an m44 mosin nagant that get's fed exclusively surplus corrosive so I know of it's effects. That being said I've never had a gun start to rust one me a couple hours after shooting. The gas system is fine by the way not a spec of rust.

    Corrosive ammo warning Must READ!!

WL Johnson, That's correct yugo barrels are not chrome lined. Justin J, Generally when I clean my rifle I look at the barrel from the chamber end. I remove the receiver cover, bolt/carrier and spring and can see right down the bore. Also the fact that the swabs are coming rusty and dark as...

    Corrosive ammo warning Must READ!!

For the last two years or so I've been shooting tula ammo through my (relatively)beautiful, un-issued yugo sks. I usually wipe the gun down after every shooting and actually clean the rifle after every 300 rounds or so. In other words sometimes the rifle would sit for a little while without...

Which is better car gun: Glock 17 or Ruger GP 100?

This is gonna have to do more with which platform you dig but if your having trouble deciding between high capacity and high power I would get a glock 26 for carry on person (should suffice for bipedal's), and use a 4" gp 100 as the truck gun (for two and four leggers, as well as hunting if you...

Optic suggestions for a Mosin Nagant

I second the S & K mount however I would go with a red dot. Bushnell makes a pretty good 30mm. The most solid mount (even though the S&K is pretty much a rock) would be the receiver drill and tap mount which would allow for a normal eye relief scope which really opens up your options. The only...

    Yugo Sks and options.

I've got a 59/66 A2 yugo (blade bayonet, grenade launcher, night sights). First thing I noticed when I was shooting at longer ranges was the front sight was kind of big and it was shooting left. I would recommend buying an ak/sks front sights adjustment tool and a kns front sights post. I used...

    Ruger SP101 problem?

Don't take my word for it but I think the firing pin might be off center. I'm pretty sure I've heard of this problem being caused by that. How are those primers looking?

Which of these compact pistols would you prefer to have?

Kimber 1911 Pro TLE II. I shot my buddies with beveled magwells and hogue side plates (palm swells). Outstanding trigger and balance. I was able to accurately shoot this gun almost as fast as my fathers colt woodsman (22 lr). His was the blued model with the rail. Probably the most accurate and...

    Buying a new Bolt gun

Alright I think you guys convinced me to put the extra few dollars in to buy the rifle I really wanted. My only question now is if the front and rear sight are dovetail as they can be swapped (of course I haven't seen the sights yet, so if there as good as you guys say I might not swap them out...

    Buying a new Bolt gun

abelbridge, I've gone hog hunting in the day in Florida. ColtPythonElite, I would prefer a rifle with sights, but thanks for the suggestion. Ian Johnson, Sorry I forgot to mention I'm not a fan of aperture sights, but I do love scout style rifles! C-grunt, thanks for the info, I'll have to...

    Buying a new Bolt gun

Ugaarguy, The savage is pretty much at the top end of my budget. As far as use goes mainly recreational but I might take it hog hunting. Here in Florida there is mostly brush and swamps so I cant help but laugh at guys who take there 10 pound, 26" barrel, 7 mil mag with a 12-24x scope out in...

    Buying a new Bolt gun

All right, I'm in the market for a budget bolt action .308 with adjustable sights. From my research I was able to turn up two that had sights and stayed in my budget. First off is the mossberg ATR...
