My wife has carried a Kahr P9 in a Galco purse for about three years. But the cost was not a problem for us. The Galco purses can be found at discounted prices with a bit of internet searching. I know there are disadvanmtages to purse carry but I think it's better than not carrying at all.
Thanks to everyone for the helpful comments!! Today I bought a pair of cycling gloves with gel padding that will prpbably help at the range. Right now, I inclined to sell or just keep in the safe the S&W 642 (my favorite gun) and get a heavier Kahr MK9. We'll see.
The full size semiautos are...
There are suggestions above to try a 45 (ACP I presume). Never having fired a .45 of any make, are you saying one of those iron monsters would have less recoil than a 9mm pocket pistol? If you say yes, I'll rent one at the range and try it. Paul
Hadn't even thought about acupuncture. I know a few people who have had good results from acupuncture for various conditions. Do you have to keep it up forever? I assume you would since arthritis is a progressive degenerative disease. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks. Paul
Today I went to the range to work out my two primary carry weapons: a S&W 642 and a Kahr PM9. The arthritis has gotton worse over the last year so my hands hurt enough that I caught myself dreading to shoot because of the recoil. In the past, I have regretted the aches after shooting but this...
The Academy Sports in Round Rock TX is where I've purchased a couple of handguns - also one in College Station, TX. I have never been charged for a background check and the prices were good ( a whole lot cheaper than Cabellas). They don't do gun trade-ins and their inventory of handguns is not...
I crack up at the old westerns when they "sling" the gun to let off a revolver shot. No aiming. Also bouncing up and down on a galloping horse or from a stagecoach and shooting with uncanny accuracy. Sometimes I feel like the caveman in those Geico commercials. Awwww, come on!

I think that's an important key. What is appropriate in any given situation. And your answer to that will vary from person to person and guide your response. In some churches, lots of loud, verbal "Amens" might be appropriate during the sermon and in some churches it would not be considered...
With both wife and I shooting at the range, it's getting a bit pricy for two pistol lanes and a 100 count box of WWB 9 mm's and one of 38 spl. Last "value pack" of 38 spl cost $23.50/100. Been looking at the Taurus website at the Ultra Lite Model 94 22lr revolver to use for practice most of the...
I think rkh has got the message by now. No need to beat a dead horse.
BUT what hasn't been given consideration is the fact that the ill advised comments of the forum commandos that are always going to wipe out the bad guys could well be evidence in court of a mind set that was intent of...
Went to the range recently with my 1) S&W 38 snubby, 2) NAA Guardian 380, 3) KelTec P3AT 380. Laid them out beside each other and took turns shooting each in 5 shot rotations. Shot each single handed several rotations in addition to two hands holds. Each has different plusses and minuses...
My wife bought the Kahr P9 for cc about a year and a half and loves it. She shoots it regularly. I liked hers so well that I bought a PM9 for myself. I think I like her P9 better because of the longer grip. No real complaints about either one though. They have been good out of the box.

I would like to get my wife a .22 lr semi-auto that is similar to her Kahr P9 9mm. She now shoots a Ruger 22/45 for fun but consistantly has a hard time getting the magazine lined up to easliy slide in. Also, I clean her guns for her when we get back from the range and I HATE trying to get that...
Thanks for the thoughtful comments and advice. I've decided to pass on any gun I can't see and handle first even though there are probably lots of good guns out there at good prices.
Saw an add for S&W Model 65's that I don't need but want. The selling website deals in buying lots and selling individual guns. He says the Model 65s came from the Texas Dept. of Corrections and a photo shows "TDC" and a serial no. stamped into the frame. My thought is that revolvers from a...
LBTRS,
I didn't know that gunguys was an anti-gun group. I'm embarassed that I didn't check out who I was quoting.
So I just now went to www.guidestar.org which has copies of the IRS Form 990 which non-profits are required to submit instead of an income tax report. The 2004 (latest...
And I'm sure the president of NRA thanks each and every one of you members for giving him almost $1 million each year in salary and benefits.
