Problems with Rem 870 20 Ga.

My 870 did this a little when I first bought it too. After you get a few boxes through it, things will start to work themselves out. BTW: I didn't clean my gun before firing it. That may have helped things out a bit. I gave her a good scrubbing after the first few hundred rounds though.

    870 with Loaded Chamber

I wouldn't leave a loaded gun around. Kids or no kids.

    I keep my chambers clear.

    First turkey hunt this morning.

I went out on my first turkey hunt this morning and would have to say that I see why others say that this is one of the most addicting types of hunting of all. We called to one gobbler who answerd, but we never got a look at him. We scouted some good spots for next time though. Anyways...

What pump shotgun would you suggest?

I picked up a 20 gauge 870 Express at Wal-Mart last week for $238. After shooting a friend's 20 just a few weeks ago, I'd have to say that it points very similarly to my 11-87.

Field & Stream Writer Support Zumbo and the '94 Ban

From his blog: February 23, 2007 ZUMBOMANIA, PART II: David E. Petzal responds to your comments As has been pointed out by those of you with long memories, I wrote a piece 13 years ago about the then-looming assault rifle ban. The story was unpopular with a lot of people, but nowhere in...

    Semi-auto shotgun for skeet

My 1187 suits my needs perfectly. It's really all about what gun fits you best. Try a lot of them before you buy, so you won't have to correct too many bad mounting and swing habits in the future.

    First Shotgun

If you want synthetic I'd say go with the Benelli Nova. I think the mercury recoil reducer is another $50. But it's money well spent. The Nova in a 12 will wear your shoulder out after just a few rounds without it.

Why is the M-1100 still made?!

What's wrong with the 11-87? Nothing at all. I use mine to shoot clays every weekend. Never had a jam. Cycles everything I've put in it. I love mine!

    Benelli: worth the price?

My 1187 has been trouble free for a good 1500 rounds now. Not one jam. I am very anal about cleaning it though. Speaking of Benelli. I want to get a Nova 12 gauge in the future for ducks. The price isn't too bad and I really like the pump's action.

    LOP: 1187 vs 870

It's a 26" barrel. It's not a Super Magnum, but will accept 3" shells. Really, I guess it's the only gun I need - as it's very versitile. I just thought about maybe getting something to take some load off the 1187 as it is my clays gun too. I shoot a good bit of clays at the farm on...

    LOP: 1187 vs 870

Armed Bear: Those are definately things to consider. I'd love to get my hands on a 20 gauge 1100, but I have never been able to find one at a nice price. I was thinking about getting the 20 as another clays gun, but as you said above: "A pump will force you to put your support hand farther...

The 28 gauge -- An addiction deepens

28 gauge 1100 I shot a friend's 28 gauge 1100 last weekend and it was a great gun. It had been in the cabinet for a while and needed some cleaning - but it shot great. I'd love to get my hands on one, but I have been told that a 28 gauge 1100 are hard to come by. I'll get some pictures...
