Did you buy one just 'cuz "they" don't want you to?

I didn't touch a centerfire rifle for 25 years. But due to the hard push by Obama and his fellow travelers at the end of 2012 (right after the election), I picked up an AK variant. Still don't need it. But I've got it.

Further evidence that guns aren't magic wands. Also, cameras are even less so.

    1986 Miami FBI Shootout

So, can the FBI run you off the road whenever they want? If you fought back, wouldn't that be self-defense? If somebody else runs you off the road is that assault with a deadly weapon or impersonating a federal officer?

Draw your weapon to fire or to scare away?

Use the minimum force necessary to neutralize the threat, up to and including deadly force. Don't draw unless deadly force is authorized. Don't shoot unless no lesser force works or is practicable.

    642 Club Part Deux

One question. What is the story on the ugly triggers? They appear to be the same on 442 as on 642. Not blued, not SS. Pre-fouled?

    Problems with M4's

Well, it's an assault rifle not a machine gun. I don't believe it's intended to be used to engage targets at rifle range on automatic. I still need to get a centerfire rifle. I've been planning on an AR. But maybe I should get a Saiga instead.

The guy doesn't come across as all that unreasonable. I think he's just fallen in with a bad crowd.

    Martial Art that includes firearms

Wheelgunslinger: Nobody said anything about your 1, 2, or 3. At least not that I detected. Also, I'm talking about one-on-one, two grown men who don't use walkers, neither apparently armed.

I didn't endorse that and certainly nothing in my post was vague enough to permit such a reading. Whack a guy with a baton in Texas and I suspect the TDC awaits you. Pepper spray and tasers might be different. I suspect a lot will ride on the quality of your reasoning. But if it's one...

    Martial Art that includes firearms

I emphatically agree with not limiting yourself to using your gun. If your Plan A is to use your gun and you have no Plan B, this is a problem. The elderly, the handicapped, and the female may need to get by on a gun, but able-bodied men will be better off, I think, if they are able to engage...

    Martial Art that includes firearms

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. But if you initiate the hostilities, you're on thin ice. Initiating non-lethal violence would be better than shooting people, I suppose, but I strongly recommend against starting fights.

I'd prefer less than 3 seconds. I'd also prefer not to have my gun pop out and end up on the ground, too.

That's why I pocket carry. Belt carry makes it really hard to do anything other than whip out your gun and yell "Freeze!" like Farrah Fawcett in any situation at all. With strong-side front pocket carry, you can have quite a bit of contact without your weapon coming into it.
