    Cheapo rock tumbler for baffles?

Fear not, the harbor freight tumbler is definitely water tight. I fill it about 1/4 with ss pins, then put some dish soap in and fill it with water to just above the baffles once they are put in. Optionally, you can add a little bit of lemishine to give them a nice polish too.

What suppressors do you have that you are looking to tumble?

    Cheapo rock tumbler for baffles?

Don't buy that crappy one from target, you'll be disappointed with it and it likely won't last with SS pins. I also have the harbor freight dual drum tumbler, just grab a coupon for 20% off. I went online and bought a large drum that replaces the two smaller one's for larger loads too. Best...

    Silencerco Hybrid

Fair points. I think we look to organizations like OSHA to define what constitutes "Safe" because they are supposed to be unbiased with the goal of protecting the public. Though variations of normal do exist where one person may sustain damage and another does not under the same conditions, OSHA...

    Silencerco Hybrid

I think your mistaking sustained vs instantaneous (impulsive or impact) decibels. Sustained Db over 85 is more damaging than instantaneous decibels of 140 and below. In your example of 90 db, it states for 8 hours (a typical work day). However, OSHA standards for instantaneous sounds of 140 and...

    Rimfire Can

Seriously, If I was picking today. I'd go with the dead air mask. No question, the reviews have been nothing but excellent. It's easy to clean like the spectre 2 but with improved design, shorter and lighter. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

    Rimfire Can

I'll second the SiCo Sparrow, but add two others. The SiCo Spectre II and the Dead Air Mask hd are both excellent cans. The only drawback for the sparrow is a first round pop on pistols, as stated above. I own the sparrow and the spectre II and both are excellent. Earlier this year I was...

    Suppressor Friendly Holster

I haven't yet, just made it this week. I shoot on a private range so otherwise I'm sure it wouldn't be Ok at a public range. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

    Suppressor Friendly Holster

I thought I'd share this idea I had. I wanted a holster for the range that let me place my Sig M&P9 with my Octane 9 in a holster. I bought a Fobus holster and cut the top portion off so it allows the m&P to snap in. It works pretty well, it's a little woobly but that's to be expected. I haven't...

    Reasonably priced OTF knives

That schrade looks interesting, I was hoping for partial serration on the blade as well and I don't see any by them. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

    Reasonably priced OTF knives

I recently came across microtech blades and love the idea of an OTF pocket knife. I would like to find a couple options for good quality otf knives that are around the size microtech utx70 or a bit smaller than the Troodon. I've seen the Lightening OTFs and bought one to see if it's any good. I...

Trying to chose a 9x19 rifle

I'm in the same boat. I'm leaning toward the MKE Z-5rs. I really wanted the MPX but the gas and suppression level concern me until I find somewhere to shoot it for myself. The Z-5rs looks awesome and has very good reviews so far. Subscribed for interest.

    Looks like 41P is a coming in '16 .....

I read somewhere very recently that, I think it was the ASA, meet with people from the ATF and were told all forms previously approved and submitted for approval prior to the implementation date would be grandfathered. Any new forms submitted once the rule is in effect would require every trust...

    Looks like 41P is a coming in '16 .....

What about this post from SilencerShop a few days ago: http://blog.silencershop.com/41p-asa/ Quote: "After working closely with federal & state lawmakers and regulatory agencies (including the ATF & NFA Branch) – it’s obvious that nobody wants 41P to be implemented (other than the current...

CBS Idiotcracy "30 Most Armed States in America"

That article (List) is complete junk. Totally false information, There are waaaaaay more guns than they have listed in each state. It's just designed to scare people and they can't even do that right.

First time deer hunting Saturday, Question

I went this morning and afternoon. I put one plug in my left ear which is the ear that would be toward the muzzle but left it a little loose so I could push it in when the time came. Unfortunately, never saw anything so I couldn't see how well that worked. Gonna try again tomorrow afternoon and...

First time deer hunting Saturday, Question

Electronic muffs have been on my radar for awhile but I was concerned about loss of direction when using them. That's seems to be true but manageable with practice. Thanks for the comments so far, I'm feeling a bit better about it. I might just use a pair of the soft plastic earplugs with the...

First time deer hunting Saturday, Question

I have a concern and I want to see what opinions are out there. I'm going to go deer hunting for the first time Saturday with my father in law (FIL). This is my first outting I'm a bit concerned about going without hearing protection. Now my FIL, is stuck in his ways, if you will, and doesn't...
