I got that much out of it but I think my brain wasn't working all the way yesterday :banghead:. I personally don't see how retreating out of ones home could prevent an escalation in public. The phrasing just seems awkward to me.
Great thread. It is very important for those of us who keep guns and who may at some point defend ourselves with said guns. Every one who purchases a firearm should be attempting to learn any relevant laws they can. When dealing with the law knowledge really is power.
I may be fuzzy its been a bit since my Criminal Law class however, I think I remember something for Missouri about this. You cannot claim self-defense as the initial aggressor unless, they escalate the confrontation to the point to where they become the aggressor. Its not the exact verbiage...
I think Sam did a great job of showing how its not really black and white. Your motivations and your "goal" so to speak really matter. But it is a personal thing and everyone must judge what works best for them. For everyone's sake I home that most choose well.
Typically when I am really frustrated about something I just need to step away for a bit, and in a safe & constructive manner blow off some steam. For me shooting allows me to forget about it for a minute or set it aside and come back with a different perspective. And even if it still bothers...
I don't think it really makes a difference. If things have advanced to the point of mass data collection on US citizens then I am sure they know who all owns firearms anyhow. Unless you have only done person to person sales and never posted anything then the government will have a good idea of...
I have watched it on occasion just to see what guns come through some times it is pretty cool. But all the complaints about the drama I second. It would be nice to see more gun and less talking.
I am definitely seeing more on the shelves now. Pre panic I could find .223 for about 35$ for 100 rounds and at the peak of panic it was about 70-80$ per 100 now I saw some at about 50$ per 100
I will not support the ACLU for the reasons listed above but I agree with the spirit of what you are saying. While we fight hard for the Second Amendment we need to be vigilant of and protect all amendments. I think there is an issue with "wuss-ifaction" in American with all the political...
I read your article and you hit on a lot of my frustrations. Such as calling a standard issue magazine a "high-cap" magazine. I also looked over the rest of your site. I look forward to further posts!
Personally from what you have said if I were in your shoes I don't know that I would want to use it as a carry gun. If I am not used to a safety I don't think that I would remember to disengage it if I need to use it. Also if I am questioning the safety to carry it without the safety then that...
Exactly. Its mostly political, may reduce chances of local LEO acting but its still a felony. Even if it is representative will no real world affect. I am hoping it will spur the kind of conversation that we want. It may just be a statement but statements can start or advance movements...
