    12 Gauge 700-X confusion

Thanks for the help! I kinda figured it was something like that, but wanted to make sure before I began loading ammo

    12 Gauge 700-X confusion

Looking at load data for 12 gauge on the Hodgdon website. For AA hulls, lead shot, 1oz loads using REM 209 primers and WAA12SL wads, they list 4 different “maximum” loads for 700-X (15, 16.5, 18, and 19 grains). Is this their odd way of saying 15 grain minimum load and 19 grain max? Or am I...

    Brass Shavings

Thanks for all the replies. I do add wash and wax when cleaning and the loading process goes very smooth. I may try some lube like One Shot and also look at the dies. I’ve already polished the powder funnel/expander on the powder die but I’ll give it another look, and I’ll look at the crimp and...

    Brass Shavings

that’s the thing, I haven’t used pins at all when I wet tumble. Just the brass, citric acid, and soap

    Brass Shavings

The primers seat just fine the majority of the time. There’s a few that take a bit more force but nothing I noted as being odd or excessive

    Brass Shavings

Good question. I didn’t notice it while loading too much, just after when I wasn’t as focused on powder charge. It’s at all stations, but mainly seating and crimping

    Brass Shavings

Recently started wet tumbling and really like it. But I’ve began to get some brass shavings when loading. The cases don’t seem to be sticking, so I’m curious what the cause would be. Any ideas?

    Wet Tumbling

Thank you for responding. Think I’ll go with the wash n wax in the tumbler and see how it does, and try one shot if I get any stickiness when sizing or flaring

    Wet Tumbling

    Is one shot lanolin based?

    Wet Tumbling

You mentioned on a post a year or so ago that you shouldn’t wet tumble lanolin lubed cases, is there a lube you recommend to someone making the jump to wet tumbling? https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/dillon-case-lube-vs-hornaday-one-shot.837357/

    Wet Tumbling

I had read that wet tumbling with primers still in, and not depriming can cause trouble like stuck primers or only partially decapping. Do you not have that issue?

    Wet Tumbling

Thank you all for the help! In the middle of a move so it’s still not an immediate changeover. Just trying to figure out logistics Edit to add I’m trying to weigh any extra prep time with the reduction in lead/media dust and any potential exposure to gunk I don’t need to ingest. Shinier brass is...

    Wet Tumbling

I’m looking into getting into wet tumbling but have a concern or two. First, does wet tumbling make brass stick when loading like when you buy new brass from Starling etc? I’ve read some people use Wash and Wax in their solution because the wax leaves a protectant film on the brass, but does it...

    9mm 147gr Data

Thanks for responding Jake. Is that both plated and FMJ?

Thanks all. I appreciate the info!

    9mm 147gr Data

So considering that I won’t be pushing the bullets to those velocities, is it ok the load FMJ bullets with the TMJ data?

    9mm 147gr Data

Wanting to try out loading 9mm 147 grainers for fun (plan on getting a few RMR FMJs). Available powders are 700-X and TiteGroup. My Lyman #49 manual has data for 147gr TMJ, which I know is Speer’s offering. Are those the same as FMJ, or can I use FMJs with that set of data? People seem to do...

Need advice on a good IWB left hand holster.

Look up Leatherhead Custom Holsters or Sword Slinger Holsters online. Both make great stuff.

9mm: FMJ vs. LRN Load Data

There's really no need to substitute or extrapolate data in this case. There's lots of 9mm lead info out there, I'd just use that.
