    I realized today… I just can’t shoot GP’s very well.

Ruger DA triggers are rough for sure. I treat the GP100 like a single action only. It's a target or plinker revolver for me, not something I want to go fast with.

    AR15 Barrel Length Study

18" is the sweet spot for AR barrels IMO. You get the rifle-length gas, you get almost all the velocity potential out of your small bullet, and you keep the whole package at a carbine size. Militaries the world over like to use the 5.56 in all kinds of 13", 14" type AR derivatives. I understand...

Ruger Mini-14 vs. AR-15 - Which one and why?

Minis are in that AK zone right now where the price heavily outweighs the cool factor.

    Kel-Tec pmr30

Don't have anything to add, just going to reiterate that you have to be very, very careful in how you load them. When loaded correctly, they run just fine. When they're not, they jam like they're paid to.

    New Ruger Mini-14 Tactical

Ruger always posts their MSRPs extremely high for some reason. A box-stock Ranch Rifle is listed at $1250 on their website, when it's probably 20% lower on the shelf. Anyway, I don't mind it at all. I thought this was going to be a continuation of the tacticool Minis from a few years ago, with...

A Fixed Stock's & Fixed Carry Handle's Love Is Very Different From That Of A Square....

I don't have a picture on my phone to show off, but when I lived in a freer state, I built an M16A1 knockoff. The fixed stock was the best part of it. nothing to fiddle with, and the A1 length fit me perfectly. I am 5'7" with proportionate arms, so pretty much the normal man's size that gun...

Wanting to build a light(er) weight AR

I like the stock on that.

    New Remington Production Quality

Years built, 1915-1986... have fun with that. Remington is selling a demolition bill.

    The sks rifle. your thoughts

I'm not surprised! I see run of the mill SKSes for $550 or $600 when I visit family back in Idaho. Throw in a HCOL, less than gun friendly state, and I'd say that $700 for a Norinco is reasonable

    The sks rifle. your thoughts

They're the Tonka truck of semi autos. The gun they actually remind me of the most of is an M44 Mosin... same size, similar weight, same kind of brick outhouse construction. But the SKSes are automatics and shoot a (formerly) very cheap, low recoil caliber. I love them. Today's prices on them...

    S&W SD9VE 9mm or a Taurus?

I like everything about my SD9VE, except the trigger. It's bad enough to be a dealbreaker for me. I Apex'd it and that got it to be OK, but still not up even to Glock level. I shot a buddy's Taurus, and it had a better trigger than the Smith. I can't speak to its long term durability though.

    Your 'Rodney Dangerfield' guns.

    Heritage Rough Rider. They're fun.

    My Favorite S&W Model

Model 10 for me. I think Smith got it right on the first try.

New Ruger LC Carbine in .45 ACP

Kind of interesting that they'd come out with a 45 ACP model before a 9mm model. But with all the PCCs being released in 9, and 45 kind of getting shorted on the new models, it's cool to see the chonky bullets get some love from Ruger.

    Baldwin Charged Again With Manslaughter

Movie sets are working with people who aren't passionate about firearms and don't know about safe and responsible firearm handling. It's like saying I need to know about harness designs to strap in and ride a zipline, or that I need to inspect the disc brakes every time I jump in someone else's...

    Yugo m24/47 Mauser

You did very well on that rifle. If it was mine to sell, I would ask $400 or maybe $450.

Now this is a cool Ruger Mini-14

Pretty sweet. And not too expensive either, considering that a box-stock Mini costs about a grand.

Are All SPR/DMR Uppers Equipped with 18” Barrels?

An AR build can be whatever you want it to be. I personally think 18" is kind of the sweet spot for ARs, as it gives you a full-length gas system in a "carbine" sized package.

    Snappy .380 pistols

I've shot a PPK and a Beretta 84, which are on the large and more shootable side for 380s, and they still snapped like heck. I'm in no hurry to shoot the LCP type micro 380s.
