    Sounds exactly like cosmoline.

On the utter uselessness of stun guns.

The three rides I volunteered to take weren't the pain compliance function. I took three rides on the leads. First was for the experience. Second was to see if I could actually overcome it. Third was at the NTI as a volunteer to display the effectiveness. I'm intimately familiar with...

On the utter uselessness of stun guns.

Stun guns are little battery-operated torture tools that serve little purpose than to make someone who wants to do bad things to you extremely enraged. And since the user must be at contact distance to use one, that's a really bad idea. TASERS on the other hand. Tasers don't deliver pain...

Moved my guns into Washington DC

Warp, with as much freedom as we have on the matter that one little issue is something I can live with.

    Maryland and surrounding states

Yeah, but I'll happily pay those for what I have here. The cost of living in Maryland is a real killer. Go hop on a real estate website and you see home after home in Frederick County selling for $300k on like 1/10th of an acre. Like I said, I don't know how young people do it. We could...

    Maryland and surrounding states

No, it's not. 3 br, 2 bath, 2 car garage on an acre of property in the woods up on a small little mountain. Just a bit over $2,000 a year for property taxes in my part of York County is typical. That's what mine are. Other people pay higher, some lower. All depends on the school district.

    Maryland and surrounding states

I grew up in Frederick. Still have family from my wife's side in Maryland, but about half have left and followed me up into Pennsylvania. The other half want to leave and are trapped by jobs and homes that are hard to sell. Over 15 years ago I made the same decision you're making now...

Moved my guns into Washington DC

And the last post to that thread was a year ago. Maryland and every other state in the union was overwhelmed with people buying guns last year. Other states that mandated state-run background checks had significant delays, too. Colorado comes to mind. Maryland passed no law making...

Evolution of Ahrends Boot Grips-Why Didn't I Think of This Sooner?

What blend of pipe tobacco do you enjoy?

Moved my guns into Washington DC

Look, I don't know what your agenda is, but that's a blatantly false statement. I grew up in Maryland. I bought handguns in Maryland. Most of my wife's family still lives in Maryland. Some of them have recently bought handguns. They have to do none of the personal visits with...

    eForm 1

Wow, that's impressive. Not just for an agency of the federal government. I've had orders I placed with Palmetto State Armory that took longer to get filled.

Yes, it sure is. Savinelli is my brand of pipe as well. Very nice work.

On the utter uselessness of stun guns.

Timbo, did you mean to post this in non-Firearms Weapons instead of the NFA Firearms forum?

    New NRA ads

I've seen them on the FoxNews Channel. I thought they were quite good. Run them on MSNBC? The viewership numbers on that channel are ridiculously low. Their market share is the size of a rounding error.

I never realized how nefarious the $200 tax stamp was.

Yup, it's the only tax I know that a government hasn't raised.

Sig arm brace -- important legal update

Yeah, but as I recall the ruling was limited to only to Thompson packages at first (one rifle barrel, one pistol barrel, and both a pistol grip and shoulder stock all sold as a complete package). Then a subsequent ATF administrative hearing/ruling/determination (my memory fails me) deemed that...

Sig arm brace -- important legal update

Yup, and instances like this point out exactly how silly the law is. With the AR being the lego set that it is, you can sit at home with a 16.5" upper and a 14.5" upper playing the game, "now it's an SBR, now it's not; now it's an SBR, now it's not," 'till the cows come home. And you'd...

Sig arm brace -- important legal update

Yup, yup, and yup. What Sam said. It's only an SBR when it is fitted with a barrel under 16". Take that off and it's nothing more than a plain-jane, completely NFA-unregulated AR frame w/out a barrel. Put a standard, unregulated length barrel on it, and as far as the law is concerned all...

Strange stock padding seen in ukraine conflict

Pretty sure we've got the gun-related question asked & answered. Questions about first aid stuff and differences b/n East vs West battlefield medical care really aren't in the scope of THR. Any Mod that feels the close was pre-mature can re-open.

    NRA launches anti-Bloomberg ad campaign

You forgot jack-booted, Nazi thug. Some years back I was called a pinko-commie, bleading heart liberal and a jack-booted, totalitarian brownshirt both in the same day. I briefly thought about having an identity crisis, but I got over it.
