You got me. I hadn't thought about the first post. Trick question. :D
So would I. It's a necessary part of the job and anyone that can't grasp that shouldn't be a soldier. But that's not the point. I could keep trying to emphasize the point that not everyone that had problems was just too...
I said several different "issued weapons", meaning several different M16's over the years. In other words, my opinion is based on several different specimens, not just one. So it's not just a case of getting a 'lemon'. And I wasn't the only one with these experiences. Locations would be...
I know the AR has a huge fan club in the civilian world, but...
If I had to go to the middle east again, but with a rifle of my choice this time, the M16 would be at the bottom of my list. Which is also why I have no interest in spending my hard-earned money on one now.
I also get a...
mothernatureson's numbers sound about right. I'd experiment with charges between 20-40 grains 3f and use the load that gives the best accuracy. Let us know how it shoots.
The only information I can find on it is that it's a .45 (.451 bore) with an 8 1/4" barrel, and it was available flint or percussion, and rifled or smoothbore. Which is yours? This info will be enough to start working up a load.
Several years ago I was shooting my flintlock rifle at the range, standing and shooting off-hand at 100 yards, doing okay but not as good as usual. I was the only one there with a muzzleloader that day, everyone else was shooting centerfires and rimfires.
At one point, I got powder and ball...
Last time I called Chambers to inquire about their touch hole liners, they told me they don't sell them separately, only as part of their kits (although this was over a year ago). Has that changed? I'd like to find a replacement for my Pedersoli.
I never heard about these tests. Can you post...
LOL!! :D {Cleaning Coke off my monitor...} That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. You sound like you know of what you speak. :D
I like your name for them, too.

The ezboard network appears to have made some changes, you now have to register just to see the forum. Doesn't make much sense, new people will never find it if they can't even see it. Unless I'm just missing something...
Anyway, I have one of Darrell's mounts for my K31...
Got a .38 Special, boys, and it do very well.
I've got a .32-20, and it's a-burnin'...
She's got a .38 Special, but I believe it's most too light.
I've got a .32-20, got to make the cats alright...
".32-20 Blues"
Robert Johnson, 1936
I saw the video of that story this morning. In that report, they said one of the rangers (or wardens, or whoever responded) shot at the bear and actually hit it and it escaped wounded, and then they started hunting it. I don't know which version is correct, wounded or not, or if they've caught...
Wow, I thought I was the only one that had scary dreams. I have a recurring nightmare in which every time I open my mouth,
out comes a song by the Dixie Chicks! :D
This is an often debated issue over at GlockTalk. I think it boils down to using excessively hot ammo. Stick to factory loads if it worries you. Here's a very long thread with a million and one opinions on the subject:
