Proper mounting of A2 flash hider on an AR15

I guess I may be over thinking the whole thing, but I have invested quite a bit in the parts for this upper. Just wanted to make sure when I torque the flash hider I don't put additional torque on the barrel nut. Thanks for the input.

Proper mounting of A2 flash hider on an AR15

I've watched a few videos, read a few threads about mounting a flash hider. Question 1, I'm sure it's all perspective, but what's the best way to mount a A2 type flash hider? Crush washer or peel washer? Question 2, is a barrel vice block required for this or will a upper receiver block...

    AR-15 general repair

It's the upper, on the forward leading edge, where the you insert the barrel extension into the upper receiver. I'm not sure if there will actually be contact since it's on the outside of the threads, I guess you'd call it the lip, but just wondered. I've got quite a bit invested in the project...

    AR-15 general repair

I guess part of my concern is the Aluminum against the steel. Those two metals don't play well together, especially if moisture is introduced. Probably not a problem, but wanted to ask and see what other thought.

    AR-15 general repair

I have a Rock River Arms lower that has a chip in the paint on the very front, where the barrel nut will thread on. It is all the way down to the metal, like a big chip just came off. My question is what would be the best way to repair this type of damage? Is it really necessary to repair...

    Base and rings

I have a Model 700™ XCR™ Tactical Long Range, that I just purchased. I got a Kahles 3.5X10X50 scope for it. I looked at other scopes but the clarity sold me. Now I'm left to getting mounts, I've looked around and noticed that there seems to be a huge disparity in the cost of different mounts...

Washington State Did a quick read of the proposed bill in Washington. This is kind of a rant, but there has to be a way to stop the useless legislation that keeps coming up…. The bill that is being proposed is a little vague regarding reloading. The ranges that I typically frequent save...

I'm still looking around and it's probably between an EOtech and a Trijicon. Borrowed my brother-in-laws, ACOG and it worked pretty good. My question is how come EOTECH doesn't have any information on there newest HWS(s). Has anyone else noticed this? Specifically there is no information...

    Western Wa places to shoot.

That's why when I go to an informal shooting area, I always bring a garbage bag or three along. I usually pack out more than I bring. Want to keep those sites available. I just don't like the people that dump appliances. That's probably why the private companies have made most of their...

I had a lengthy discussion with a coworker today, which while we fundamentally disagree on a lot of subjects. We agree that by the time the media gets done with this story we will be sick of the story and sick of the news. The media will drive it into the ground until we don't even see the...
