Never seen or experienced that with any of mine or the hundreds of 500s I have handled.

That is the one I am waiting on myself. I feel for it the first time I saw one. I have been waiting to get my hands on one to call my own....I imagine I won't be picking one up till next spring sometime. Great gun at an incredible price. :D

You can get a Mossberg, Maverick or Stevens a good bit cheaper and will do the job every bit as good.

Those are the best slugs that I have found out of a smooth bore shotgun. I have a Mossberg 500 that will out shoot a lot of guns with rifled barrels with those slugs...

I wouldn't choose either for hunting.....
