    Beam Scale

I have a pic of the Redding instructions, but can’t figure out how to post it. It says to fill the reservoir to 1/4 inch of the top with #30 motor oil or equivalent.

    Reloader's Nest

Never looked at the load data, but the forum was interesting. Lots of very knowledgeable guys contributing. The site has been in trouble for a while. Maybe a year or so ago, they changed to a new format, members had to register again, lots of members lost then. Then nothing but trouble with...

    A First Today Reloading

I put cases base up in the loading block, so primers are easy to inspect. Then charge with powder, seat bullet, and into the box. No loading blocks full of cases with powder for me.

    Cracked Casings - Please help!!!

RJS, did you only neck size, or did you full length size as well? Probably a dumb question.

    Cracked Casings - Please help!!!

Did the OP full length size AND neck size. I believe this die set includes both dies. I agree with most who say setting the shoulder back too much would cause the case head separation. Which die from the set did he use?

    22-250 blown primers!

Here as another way to set up yer sizing die which requires no extra tools: I can't take credit for this. I copy/pasted it from another site. 1. Take a once fired factory round and blacken the neck and shoulders with a Magic Marker or Sharpie pen. Some people like to smoke the neck and...

    22-250 blown primers!

749-005-148WS Hornady Lock-N-Load HeadspaceTool Set w/Bushings Mfr Part: HK66 Above is the more accurate version of the 357 case as recommended by 243win. Part # from Sinclair International.

    22-250 blown primers!

Agree with Shooter. Can't really imagine how a primer can fall out before you open the bolt, in a bolt gun. Or even back out eneough to fall out as the bolt is opened. Have you compared the shoulder datum to base dimension of once fire brass to your FL sized cases? When you pull the trigger...

    7MM WSM Pressure signs

243win, lots of micrometers can measure to .0001, this involves a vernier scale in addition to the usual ones. I would not trust a digital mic to measure this accurately.

    Thanks,MCMXI, for the info.

    Barnes TTSX and 30-06

MCMXI, Where did you find the min velocities for good expansion? Is the velocity independent of calibre, i.e. applies to 7mm and 30 cal, etc? I would like to know as I shoot 7mm.

Ruger 77 freebore longer than book COAL

Do I seat TSX bullets .030 inch to .070 inch from the lands, starting at .050 inch off the lands, as recommended with other X-style bullets? Yes. All-copper TSX Bullets typically give better accuracy when seated off the lands and grooves (the rifling in the barrel). From Barnes FAQ. Believe...

Lee Class Cast single stage press

I have the breech lock Bushings on all my dies and love them. There is a relatively new version, the lock ring eliminator which clamps the die with a screw. Looks like $11-16. One for each die. Or you can just leave the bushing in the press and use it like a non-breechlock press.

    7Mag Barnes TTSX-140

Thanks, again. I looked at my load, 150 TSX, 2700 fps, looks like I have a bit over 2000 fps at 300 yds.

    7Mag Barnes TTSX-140

Thanks, I'll check it out. Also wondering where the 2000-2200 fps velocity required for expansion of copper bullets comes from.

    7Mag Barnes TTSX-140

Horsey, how do you calculate the velocity at 500 yds. Something to do with the BC and muzzle velocity I presume. I don't see any tables in the Barnes manual that help.

    7Mag Barnes TTSX-140

I've shot lots of whitetails with the 150TSX from a 7Rem Mag, from 50-250 yds. I've been using the Barnes min load of 54grns of IMR 4831. All DRT, except one, where I missed the boiler room. Deer took a step just as I pulled the trigger. He went 50 yds. Never recovered a bullet, ever. I shot...

    Balance Beam Scale vertical divisions

Hope these old Redding instructions help. Example. Zero the scale. Set bullet weight with the poises. Put a bullet in the pan. The pointer will tell you how many .1grn the bullet is above or below the weight you set with the poises.
