I would like to try some Longshot that I just got with my 200 grain powder coated cast bullets for 10 mm. Hodgden has only fmj load for 200 grain with a starting load of 7.0 grains and max load of 8.2 grains. Where should I start for cast bullets?
The thread about leaving powder in the powder dispenser got me thinking. I have heard about an accessory to make it easy to dump the powder from a Dillon powder measure, but can't remember it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Bought a new Colt today. Went into a gun store and laying in the case looking at me was a new stainless Colt Delta Elite. Brought it home. My wife even sort of encouraged me!
Yesterday my ergo handle for my older Dillon came and I installed it. When playing with it, I compared it to the newer one (put an ergo handle on it before I ever used it) and it seemed much rougher in the movement. So today I tore down the older Dillon to adjust the timing or whatever they call...
Pretty expensive, but if they are that much better than others I guess they are worth it. Anyone with experience? Let me know. I think I will order one for my Model 28.
I want to buy some new 30-30 brass. I was in a store today and the only 30-30 brass they had was Hornady. Is is the regular length? It seems that I read that there is some Hornady brass that is shorter than normal. but maybe I dreamed that.
I am having problems setting up to reload for 30-30, maybe some of you can help me. I am using a Dillon 550b. I bought RCBS cowboy dies because I am loading my own cast and powder coated bullets. I used a Lyman 311440 mould that is a flat nose bullet between 150-160 grains. I put the sizing die...
I was setting up to reload for 30-30 today. I had some once fired brass. I had a Lyman Universal Trimmer that I had not used before. As per directions I sized and decapped the brass. I then tried to set up the trimmer to trim the brass. I had a horrible time. Could not get the brass in...
I got some sample packs of gas checks from Vulcan. I sized 30-30 and 45-70 bullets today and so used the sample packs. So some will have gas checks and some not. Will then powder coat them. I will see how they shoot I guess. Gas checks add a few cents to each bullet. Do you use them or...
I am acquiring a Marlin 30-30 through a trade and would like to cast my own bullets, powder coat them and load them for this rifle. What dies would you recommend. I think you need to flare the case a little for cast bullets.
Bought one of these to size the bullets I cast, but shell holders would not go on the ram. First RCBS sent a new shell holder thinking that was the problem, but it wasn't so they sent a new ram. Shell holders can be put in this one, but now I need to know how to replace the ram. I thought...
I am finally going to set up my Dillon 550 after 8 years in storage. My wife and I began USPSA and 3 gun shooting this spring and the ammo cost is killing us. Since it has been in storage, it needs to be cleanup up, lubed, etc. Any suggestions on what I should do? I need to get a new scale...
Camera land has a good deal on demo units of this scope (http://www.cameralandny.com/optics/vortex.pl?page=vortexviperhs4-16x44lr).
Anyone know anything about this scope? I am looking at getting myself a retirement gift of an AR dedicated to varmint shooting (maybe the new RRA LAR 15 X-1 Rifle...
Not getting many answers on brands of spotting scopes, so let's try another question. I want to use a spotting scope for sighting in rifles between 100 to maybe 300 yards and for hunting both large game, predators and varmints, like prairie dogs. I was looking at 20 x 60 x 80 scopes, but can...
I would like to get a spotting scope for hunting and range work. Been looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Alpen-20-60x80-degree-waterproof-Spotting/dp/B0001IPKRE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1390419243&sr=8-2&keywords=alpen+spotting+scope
I has pretty good reviews and the price isn't bad...
I would like a carbine for close shooting. Defense and fun. Would it be better to buy one or build one myself? How difficult is it to build one myself? Would I save any money? What parts would you suggest?
I need a sling for my new AR 10. I see 3 point slings, 2 point slings and 1 point slings. This one looks good for a 1 point sling : http://www.amazon.com/Bungee-Sling-Tactical-Military-Firearms/dp/B00CI9I7QA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1384630762&sr=8-4&keywords=ar+rifle+sling
However I don't...
