Savage 110 left hand .270 win. failure to fire

Two suggestions: 1. If possible check the headspace. Too much will result in light primer strikes. 2. Go over to Savage Shooters .com

    M39 Scout Rifle

Ok, now I'm curious. PM me sometime after Thanksgiving and you can shoot at the 100 & 200 yard lines at SSI in Louisburg.

HD rifle for a mid 40s woman.

If WNC is like Central NC I think you could find a used Marlin Camp Carbine in 9mm very easily. 15 rounds of a good 9mm JHP is a good start. The price should be compare well with your others ideas. The manual of arms is simple and there is no recoil.

I need recommendations on a single point sling for my AK...

I don't have time to post the pictures tonight but after reading the thread on AR15.com I made my own single point sling from 1" tubing and connectors from REI. Grand total of $4.85.

Suggestions for 3gun and IPSC guns

AR15 lower If you want to build a AR15 we are doing a group buy on stripped lowers in the Raleigh/Garner area. Go over to www.ar15.com and the hometown NC section. So far we are up to about 20 people +/- cat herding factor. Hopefully we will get a lower for less than $100 out the door with that...

    Poor Service From Comp-Tac

Chris, Do you see why most manufacturers don't sell directly to the public? First you are blamed for someone being made while improperly wearing your product. Then one mistake in thousands of orders and your dirty laundry is aired on the internet. If you sold this holster through Midway/Natchez...

    AK-47 Norinco Questions

There's a lot of ground here to cover. MAK-90's will generally have better fit and finish than any of the SAR-1 series rifles. Of course that's not saying much. My several examples are much more accurate also. Reliability is as good as a rifle gets, period no exceptions. Parts can require...

New SIG 556...predictions??? Two days left.

I would like to believe it will be more accurate than the AR15 but what facts do we have to document this claim? Are you saying more accurate than a rack grade M16 or a rifle capable of hanging with a NM floated barrel AR?

    870P Price Check

USMC Tanker, Back during the stone age when I was in the Corps I was stationed at Camp Schwab, Okinawa. Back then companies rotated in and out instead of individual Marines. Our AAV company happened to be in formation one day down at the ramp when the new tank company marched by. Our First...

    870P Price Check

Merry Christmas, Thanks for all the recent informative threads on the 870P. You've done such a great job describing the shotgun and its features I went to look for one today. I found not one but three models on the shelf to choose from and wonder how the prices are. I first looked at the...

The Bug Out - A short story

How many of us know someone, through the internet only, that we trust enough to bug out based on one of their posts? Sorry I frequent this and another dozen boards on a weekly basis and don't know anyone who is credible enough to make me bug out.

    Gun Tests

Rick, I do understand your point about considering multiple factors and I also believe doing a review the Consumer Reports way is more conclusive. But the fact remains a sample of one is still valid. If you found one Argie FAL that shoots 1/2" groups I'd bet it is not the only one out there...

    Gun Tests

I don't have a problem with them basing their review on one example of a gun. When you buy a new gun do you buy multiples of that gun and average out your opinion or do you base your opinion on that one gun? See where I'm going?

Full auto isn't any more dangerous than anything else.

Thanks for the answer Andrew. If I understand your point of view it's a good start even if I don't necessarily agree with it. The gun hobby is just like most families. It has a little of everything in it, from the tactical shooters to duck hunters to bench rest shooters to sporting clay...

Andrew S, Humor me and please tell us where you would like to see the line drawn. I am also curious about your background and experience with these tools you would like to see banned. Military service? Family member killed by guns? I am sincerely trying to understand someone on a firearms...

When the SHTF, a rifle or shotgun in your hand?

If the $500 does not include your first 1,000 rounds of ammo get the best example of a AK-47 you can find. It will still be running when all the others are dust. It is accurate enough to 200 yards, powerful enough, and several 30 round magazines will not add much cost. I have AR-15's, pump...

    Pump action .223 Rifle?

I can tell you the local FFL is selling them for $835 which is higher than the Bushmaster AR's next to it.
