    Bye Bye Beretta...

Good. Let the Maryland Democrats feel the economic pain of their unconstitutional stupidity.

    7.62x39 rifle options.......

A few years back Ruger made a limited run of their model 77 bolt action rifle chambered in 7.62x39. I have one and it is a great little deer rifle out to 100 yards with a 4x scope. I think CZ also makes a bolt gun in this caliber. Just a couple more options to think about.

    Help with old Marlin 780

Hi folks. I have an old Marlin 780 bolt action .22 rifle. It is robust for a .22 and very accurate to boot. Lately I've had some light strikes that I do not think can be attributed to faulty ammunition, so I am thinking this old rifle might be due for a firing pin spring replacement. Can...

I,____ being a reasonable person, hereby affirm to not buy 9mm for more than $11.99,

I agree we shouldn't pay stupid prices. That's just common sense. But how are you so sure everything will return to normal? I'm not so sure gas prices, or taxes, or anything else will return to "normal" (i.e. what I used to pay). I think there is a real possibility that ammo shortages and...

Stop Buying Ammo For a Month...

In my view, to stop buying ammo is to do exactly what the antis want. They want to make it so expensive that people just quit. There is a simple equation to keep in mind....the more ammo we buy, the more we will have, and the more we will vex the anti-gun crowd that wants to restrict it...

Hypocrisy; Guns; Warbirds (Private ownership of military aircraft)

IMHO, the whole point of the 2A is to keep an equality of force between civilians and the federal military, so civilians can prevent armed tyranny by the government. The 2A fundamentally protects the rights of citizens to own any and all types of weapons, period. Including artillery, fighter...

    VERY disappointed

Just my .02 on this emerging topic.... I joined the NRA and also wrote to my Reps. and Senators, however, I think protest gatherings are somewhat futile. Just look at the March for Life that happens every January and draws massive crowds to DC. The media and politicians ignore them every...

    PA, WV, or OH?

PA laws are pretty good (at the moment) but the problem is all the liberals from the Philly area. If you move to southwest PA my advice is to live in Washington, Green, or Fayette County. Stay away from Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) because of the high taxes and Democrat death-grip on local...

My experience with hyperacusis- a hearing disorder

I have hearing loss in both ears from the military and from (stupidly) shooting without protection when I was younger. I got my first pair of hearing aids at the ripe old age of 28, and I also have tinnitus in both ears. I've learned to live with it, but I still enjoy shooting. Life goes on...

Happy and excited about my purchase today...

I once had a G29 and stupidly sold it to fund another purchase. You will love it. Lots of power in a nice small package. I hope to get another one sometime. Enjoy yours!

    Shocked I say. Local Wal-Mart has 5.56

My local Dunham's has 5.56 in stock, including Remington 250 round bulk packs. They limit 1 per customer on the bulk packs and 3 per customer on 20 round boxes. Also have plenty of 22lr at normal prices.

    Two Criteria: Tough and Cheap!

Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys. A lanyard...now that's a really good idea! Also, I was not considering Rossi either, but I'll give them a look. Seems like there are still a few good deals out there for used revolvers on gunbroker. As Jim K pointed out, folks tend to baby their...

    Two Criteria: Tough and Cheap!

Hi folks. Thanks to input on a previous thread I'm the proud new owner of a flintlock rifle and I'm already having lots of fun tinkering with it. Lots of folks here gave some great suggestions that I found very helpful, so I thought I'd come again, hat in hand, asking for more advice. I do...

With reluctance and an apology, I'm getting on the "stop the madness" bandwagon...

I'm going the other way, giving instead of gouging. I have a buddy who finally realized he needs a rifle but couldn't find or afford anything he was looking for. So, I'm giving him a spare SKS I have. I'd rather see a good friend be armed than have an extra rifle I hardly ever shoot.

Do You Think The Pink Guns Have Attracted More Female Shooters?

I'd never buy one, and my wife likes her black Glock just fine, but I figure if the ladies like it more power to them. If it sells more guns and gets more people into shooting what's the harm? There is a very attractive young gal who works at a LGS who always open carries a little pink...

    One gun for pure fun?

Great suggestions...thank you! I'm more and more intrigued by the world of blackpowder, so I think I'll start reading some on that topic and all the options available. thorazine - I can't tell you how many thousands of rounds my boys and I put through that little Bearcat. They have gotten...

    One gun for pure fun?

Thanks for the interesting suggestions! I was already thinking of some kind of big bore single action revolver, but I like the blackpowder idea too. In terms of cost, how does blackpowder shooting stack up against centerfire 38/357 factory ammo? I guess I could always use the extra funds to...

    One gun for pure fun?

Hi folks. I'm in the happy position of having all of my gun "needs" fulfilled, but I have the means right now to buy something for the sake of pure fun at the range. I guess I'm just looking for something different that would be a fun diversion from all my other task-oriented firearms. I'm...

Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, Harrisburg, PA Boycott and Cancellation

I agree with Cabela's decision, but I will never shop there again for another reason. I had a Cabela's credit card, issued by their own bank, which I was never late paying, always payed more than the minimum due, and never had an unreasonable or overdue balance. In the credit crunch of 2009...

Since most on this forum would carry a Revolver

I think we sometimes tend to over-think all the scary possibilities of life, but the truth is you just can't be prepared for everything. All of us have a much greater chance of being hit by a drunk driver than facing a crazed gunman. All you can do is drive carefully, be aware, and not worry...
