    Colt Cobra/Python Front Sights

I'll keep monitoring eBay. If I could get one of those orange ramps, I could give it a coat of Brownells black paint and then hit the top with the fingernail polish I've got. Thanks!

    Colt Cobra/Python Front Sights

Thanks, but no luck with Bowen. Colt CS suggested I contact Marble. Said they make all the sights for Colt. No reply so far.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no-go with Kensight.

    Colt Cobra/Python Front Sights

Does ANYBODY sell a ramped blade style (plain black) front sight for one of the "new" Colt Cobras or Pythons (the ones with the set screw which comes in from the front)? I've got a King Cobra Target with the fiber optic sight and just can't make myself like it. I'd much rather have a plain black...

What semi-auto pistol do you shoot best?

My Colt Classic 1911 .38 Super with Novak sights (FO front and adjustable rear). I do believe I could hit a gnat in the @$$ with that thing! ;)

I want a 9mm for leisure shooting, help me choose

My vote(s) would go to the Colt Combat Commander 9MM and the CZ 75B. Truth be told, though, I have the most fun shooting my Colt Government Model .38 Super. Pricey ammo, but I find it to be more accurate than the 9MMs with less recoil than a .45 ACP.

Combat Commander or CZ 75B Retro?

Which would you rather have strictly for range use - a Colt Combat Commander 9mm or a CZ 75B retro?

    The M17

I'm not real big on the idea of dropping any of my guns. :)

    The M17

I've had many handguns over the years and never thought I'd find one which I love as much as the Model 1911/Colt Government Model, but I think the M17 is at least a tie. I have been firing mostly Winchester Service Grade 115 grain (which, as far as I can tell is same-same M1152) and some...

    S&W M&P versus Glock

I have been a 1911 guy for years. At my nephew's urging, I decided to drink the Kool-Aid and try a Glock a couple of years ago. I actually got two - a 17 and a 19. I tried - I honestly tried - to make myself like the damn things but it just didn't work. Based on my LGS owner's suggestion, I...

how does a magazine disconnect work?

The one in my Browning Hi Power had some sort of plunger dubisary behind the trigger which pressed on the magazine. I never did get a handle on how it worked. Traded the gun for a Colt Combat Commander 9mm. (1911s I understand!)

    .44 Magnum vs .45 ACP/AR

Hmmmm. Maybe I'd better think more along the lines of a .357 Magnum. All I do (hopefully) is target-shooting.

    .44 Magnum vs .45 ACP/AR

Just wanted some opinions on the recoil of a .44 Magnum (say, a 6" barrel S&W) versus the recoil of a .45 revolver with .45 ACP or Auto Rim ammunition. I've fired the latter (a Colt version of the Model 1917) but have never fired a .44 Magnum. Is there much difference?
