As you grew up, how did you avoid siding with anti-gun thinking?

I was born in the early 1980's in a mostly liberal town where few people owned guns. I went to a shooting range at age 12 and enjoyed it. In my late teens I thought guns were neat, but didn't know much about the laws and politics. At this time I easily could have been lured into the anti gun...

    My Daughter's first shotgun....

Good to teach kids the safe and fun use of firearms. Maybe some water bottles next time? I'm surprised your dog wasn't bothered by the noise.

Ruger LCR 357 Mag Owners-Your Opinions?

I bought one because the .357 version weighs a few ounces more than the .38 The trigger is very good and the recoil is mild with .38s I recently tried medium power .357s and the recoil wasn't as bad as I expected. My hands are medium size and although a bigger grip would be more comfortable...

    Pro-gun rallies and appearances

I can understand the concept of dressing well to impress people, but my question is who are we trying to impress? If we dress casual, the antis will say we are hicks. If we wear suits they will say we are the evil rich gun lobby. I thought the point of rallies is to make the legislators fear for...

what percent of your guns are modified?

I just realized that all of my guns have been modified. What about yours? By my definition I consider new grips or painting the front sight to count as "modified" in addition to other stuff such as: new stock, trigger, recoil pad, etc..

What percent of the guns you bought do you still have?

I've sold 57% of the guns I've bought. Of those I sold, most of them developed functioning issues that contributed to them being sold(after repairs) Of those I still have, only the GP100 and WASR10 have been with me for a while.

One Year Later: The Long Range Peach House Gunfight

The governor giving a man a gun as a reward for bravery sounds amazing to me :what: In terms of righteousness it sounds like heaven compared to where I live.

Poll: In past year did you take new shooter to the range? comment if you did.

I took two of my sisters friends shooting this year. One had never shot before and liked the 10/22 and savage mk2.

    Handled a Walther PPQ today....

Never owned a PPQ, but did have a P99. The P99 was fun to shoot but I sold it after I found it to be insufficiently durable for a defensive handgun. After owning it for 4 years and firing around 10,000 rounds total the ejector broke. After it was repaired I had put about 5000 more rounds through...

Gun-friendly/firearm-cultural places to visit in New England/Tri-state area?

Hi TMiller, If a fellow THR member is able to bring you to his range then that's great. If that doesn't work out there's an indoor range open to the public in Manchester NH. It does get very busy on weekends. Also considering the current ammo shortage make sure to call ahead...

Took some "extremely left wing" friends to the gunrange today. . .

Although I was never anti gun, I didn't become pro gun overnight. There was a time when I thought that guns were fun but I could have been convinced to join the more gun control side. It was only after I had looked deeper into the issue that guns became more than just an activity. So when you...

Proposed gun control bill in KY

It was no surprise to me that legislators in anti-gun states would try to push stuff like this, but this shows that leftists are so out of touch with reality that they expect to do this in Kentucky!!!??

    Million Gun Owner March

True, but the difference between then and now is that there is currently a major anti gun assault looming. That alone should get more people to attend, especially since the media will be reporting on the legislative push for gun control. On the national level the republicans might block gun...
