    Youth Models for clay

I think it can depend. I have a 20 ga. youth model Mossberg and it's the best thing ever for shooting clays. It's light, it's easy to mount up to your shoulder, and it has very little recoil. I've taught many people to shoot backyard clays with that 20 ga. "bantam" model, and it's one of my...

    Range Charges!

That sounds like an awful place to shoot. Less a "range", than a place to convert money into noise and smoke for someone else's benefit. There has to be a good outdoor club somewhere nearby. You'll like that a lot better. Alternately, you could make friends with someone who has some property...

    Glock double stack speed loader

It's true. Having a place out in the country is a lot more expensive than a shooting range membership... The fringe benefits are worth it though.

.50 BMG from a 12 gauge shotgun (video)

This seems ill advised. But I honestly can't believe it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZaK7D4XVo8&feature=g-vrec&context=G2dc2669RVAAAAAAAABg

    AFG or Pivot forward grip?

Briansmithwins, I think "Made in the USA" was referring to the cardboard box your stock set came in. :)

    AFG or Pivot forward grip?

Unless you whittle your own Magpul foregrip out of hickory while sitting on your front porch, it's likely to be a cheap "chicom airsoft" knockoff. I'm suspect of all Magpul goods for this reason. They sold out to the Chinese to go big, and the stock and the site I linked to are the fruits of...

    AFG or Pivot forward grip?

I'm reasonably certain most of it is Chinese airsoft knockoffs. Even the Magpul stuff. Actually, especially the Magpul stuff. Take a gander at this: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ctr-butt-stock-black-103054 It's a very good quality copy, Virtually indistinguishable. They even copied the...

    Musclecars of the gun world

I think a good contender for "hot rod" of guns is the Saiga-12. It's a shotgun. But it's a magazine-fed, semi automatic shotgun built on the AK-47 platform. They can and have been tricked out with all sort of high-speed crap, and definitely have some power.

"CBS Sunday Morning" 3/18 on Glock

Well, most people are OK with guns.

What Kind Of Gun Would You Like To See?

I think a Glock with a metal frame would be cool. It'd be great to have nice metal frame with the exact same metal treatment as the slide. It would be heavy, but it would soak up recoil well. It's already a brick. You might as well go all the way.

    full auto 1911

It looks like the old-time gangsters had a flair for the tacticool, even way back when. I guess it never really goes out of style. People have been making their weapons "better" and more "tactical" since the first caveman started sharpening a stick. It would be amusing to see what Baby Face...

    Semi-auto, less recoil?

If you're just after recoil reduction, semi's are great for that. The more interesting question is why? What's the wholistic situation in which you want to reduce recoil? Semi's are fun, and have their benefits and uses, but what are you shooting? Maybe you'd be better served with an...

Clint Smith on the 4 rules

Reading the comments, I just don't see the point of splitting hairs. Always *assume* it's loaded. Don't screw around with a potentially loaded gun, playing with it, that sort of thing. You know what I mean. Even if you *know* it's empty, don't point it at your head, your wife, the dog, the tv...

Clint Smith on the 4 rules

I like this guy quite a bit. I've heard the name, knew he was a shooting instructor, but that was it. He's got a great speaking style. I'm gonna take most of that to heart and start preaching it as well. It's always the "unloaded" gun that you've got to watch out for.

Mildly amusing, and then I noticed the slime trail left by a Newt.

One of these things is not like the others

Thanks Hex, that's pretty neat. It's a pretty low-brow pawnshop, and I thought for sure that some old boy had cut down his lever rifle and sold it for beer money.

One of these things is not like the others

A local pawnshop that advertises "Over 100 handguns in stock!" posted this picture on a local classifieds service. I wonder if they know that one of those things is not like the others? While it's conceivable that it's legit, I doubt it. Can you spot the potential felony?

    Difference between a Glock and a Jennings, a Rohm and a S&W?

I think this is one of the best gun forum troll posts I've seen in a long, long time. It's unique, and it's got an interesting, fresh angle on two solid raw meat topics; Glocks and Jennings, Jiminez, et cetera. I like the way you set up the Glock vs. Saturday Night Special argument. The...

The Polymer AR lowers, anyone have both yet?

I do know that discerning Gunkids everywhere favor the carbon fiber lower coupled with a dedicated silenced .22 upper.
