Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

After getting the CZ82 two weeks ago I was doing some work on the mag release button and launched the mag catch spring into Neverland (I found the catch parts, couldn't find the spring). So I had to order a mag catch spring (x2). It all works again.

    Finally a Shotgun

Nice looking shotgun! I am in the process of building one of those right now. It's still in the white but the stock has been done for a year. I can't seem to get cold blue to work on the barrels and I don't know why. :banghead:

    Bolting Dillon press to workbench

An extra long 3/8" spade bit is inexpensive at a hardware store, some 3/8" grade 5 all-thread, the appropriate number of Stover lock nuts and some heavy washes work very well. A 6" or 8" spade bit will do it through just about any wood benchtop. Just back the bit out every couple of inches and...

    Storing reloading supplies

I've found that an old (or new) cooler is a great storage device and doesn't fluctuate temperatures very quickly. Soo, I was sitting here thinking about the dehumidifying devices such as a rifle bore dryer type and considered that there might be a way to insert that into the drain hole, put a...

    Cleaning your reloading press...

Cool cover dickttx! :) I use an old pillow case on the LM and so far haven't found anything that fits the turret press so I just drape an old rag over it.

Wood Bench Surface - Wood Type and Treatment

I see, my bad. Umm, post 51 holds the answers you seek. It's aunaturale' wood finish with a little paint, some grease, elbow sweat, crushed bug juice, cleaning chemicals, etc. on the tall bench and the short bench has a layer of old half rotted plywood on it that I found out back in my burn...

    Cleaning your reloading press...

For what it's worth; I just cleaned my two Lee presses today by wiping the rams clean repeatedly to get the nasty oil off as much as possible top and bottom and put a film of thirty weight on it. Wiped the rest down with a lightly oiled rag. The LM gets a bit-o-grease from a chainsaw tip greaser...

    .38spl wadcutters

I see the points ya'll are making but I'm one of those types that would rather use the wadcutters for wounding.   Actually I have some Corbon HP's as real self defense rounds. But I believe the wadcutters would be a good backup to carry with her. The least that could...

    .38spl wadcutters

Thanks everyone! All good advice that I used this afternoon. I made up 15 test mules with 3.1g of Titegroup and set the lead down to the shoulder and put a light roll crimp on them. They looked good! Then went out and shot em. They hit where my old eyes was expecting them to; what more can a guy...

Wood Bench Surface - Wood Type and Treatment

I am far from well-to-do so I use what is available. In this case 4x4's have come in handy. This is my 6' x 30"x39" tall work/reloading bench with the smaller bench also made from 4x4's glued and bolted together. The presses are either through bolted with all-thread or simply lagged down with...

    .38spl wadcutters

I have some Magtech 148g lead hollow base wadcutters that I want to load for my wifes S&W 627-2 Airweight. Two questions- one; are they set to full depth with a roll right at or slightly over the top edge of the shoulder? two; I have w231 and Titegroup to use. The airweight is a snubby, are...

Powder Valley has Tula Small Pistol Primers

Midway has CCI SPP available now for $29.99. Too spendy for me, I have 5K of Tula and have loaded 300 so far without any type of problem. However, I do agree they seat harder than others.

Using an auto pistol barrel find a MAX O.A.L with your bullet

OK, I guess. :neener: ;) No, This is really seriously good info! :) I followed you up until this. MAN! I really must be dense! I understand the equal to or shorter than part. What I'm not picking up on is whether or not I maintain my OAL at the set point I determined from the push tests? In...

    Help for 9mm load

Ok, I think I got it... but now I also think I should undo about 180 rounds and rebuild them. They are longer than the oal data spec but still short by saami spec. I don't think they would cause any problems shooting them. Thanks for the info. I think I'll do that very thing when I get through...

Using an auto pistol barrel find a MAX O.A.L with your bullet

Very informative. Great photography. But I must be tired or dense or stupit or all three. Is the overall objective to get the greatest oal that will work in a given gun without actually binding on the rifling if it will cycle through at that length? Which, in affect, would make the oal given...

    Help for 9mm load

What about hollow based bullets ... like Winchester HBRN's? And if I may ask a small hijacking question-- Is the COL given in the load data; a suggestion, something to aim for or a do not exceed length or go shorter length? Thanks.

    Making Dummy Rounds

My little creative mind went from silicone in the primer pocket to using a lead plug. Maybe this was a mistake or it won't work for some types of firearms but it works great in my 9mm's. I had a electrician crimping pliers that would cut the perfect size plug off a homemade roll of lead bar. I...

It Can't Be Just Us- No Components

I could have used something like that last summer. I think they have moved on though. I have too many cats and gogs running the fields for them to be comfortable here. Last summer was the first time in 26 years I've ever had a problem with hole digging critters. We also had an endangered species...

Interesting New Trim System from Lee

Thread highjack! Thread highjack! cutting luger cases to mak dimensions??! Do tell! Really, I have been trying to find the answer to this question for a long while (at least a week). I was going to get some 9x21 cases and trim them down since they are closer to the saami specs of a 9x18...
