Is it just me? or are the prices for Maks higher now?

Yes, but if you have $400 to spend you can find a better value than a Makarov for that. Keep looking... a used Ruger P95 will be less than $300 (sometimes much less) and will run forever. The 9x19 ammo is about as inexpensive as you can find in center-fire pistol ammo. If you can carry...

Is it just me? or are the prices for Maks higher now?

CDNN has CZ82s for less than $200. The Makarov was a great buy when they were $125, not bad when they were $175, but they are waaaayyy over-priced when they are above $275. IMO, of course.

looking for any experiences with Kel-tec PF-9

I've had one since shortly after they first came out, and several years later, I'm still a fan. I've had no issues with mine, and still carry it quite often.

    How do they know?

You guys are so hurtful! :neener: It ain't gonna win any beauty contests, but it sure would carry easy, and two mags = a whole box of ammo on hand! That could be important if you wake up from a coma to find the world's gone over to the Zombies! :p

    How do they know?

I walked into the LGS this morning, and the manager is opening boxes behind the counter. He stands up, turns around, and says: Have you seen these yet? How can they tell when you have money in your pocket? So, we agreed on a price and now I own one of these: Kel-Tec PMR30 :D...

    Ruger P345D, Good, Bad, Ugly?

Mine has been great. I don't dry fire much since I have a range out back, but like the others said, use an empty mag and you'll have no issues.

Firestorm imports the Bersa under their own name. They all come out of the same place in Argentina.

    21 years later...

I found this little SP-101 at the LGS this morning... it's a first-year (1989) gun in excellent condition, chambered for .38, of course, as the .357 came a year or so later.

    Taurus 945 or Ruger P345

I bought a Taurus PT945 in stainless the first year they were available, and it functioned fine, but we did not get along as mine would lock the slide back 2 or 3 times on every magazine. My thumb and the 945s slide stop just could not co-exist.

    Taurus 945 or Ruger P345

My pick: The Ruger P345. Mine is the de-cocker only version and has proven both reliable and accurate.

Which revolver has the legendary status?

SA- Colt Peacemaker DA-S&W Chiefs Special or Colt Detective special. The snub nose is the most prevalent revolver in Hollywood, news stories and crime.

Pocket Carrying a Revolver Without a Holster?

Holsters are for your belt, not your pocket. My Opinion: There is no reason carrying a DA snub-nosed revolver in your pocket will be any less safe than any other mode.... unless you carry with the hammer cocked. :uhoh:

Sig P250 for $407 NIB. Good Deal or Not

I was at the local shop this morning and they had a .45 and a 9mm (compact), both priced at $370 (NIB)... but I don't do DAO pistols either.

Genuine Russian Military Makarov: Any Interest?

Keep in mind there are two different Russian models: Military Issue and; Commercial models. The Commercial Models had adjustable rear sights and a poor finish. The Military issue models had fixed rear sights and a much, much better finish. I have to chuckle when I see the Commercial...

    .22 LR ammo question

On a .22LR, that copper is NOT a jacket, but rather just a wash. Think of it as paint rather than skin. Its only purpose is to provide a measure of lubrication for the pure lead bullet. Those without the copper also have a lube applied, it just isn't obvious as it's not brightly colored.

    ruger p90 vs. p97 vs. p345

I prefer the poly frames over the alloy, so my choices are the P97D and P345D, both in de-cock only* form. (Putting a safety on these is like putting a safety on the GP100... totally without merit - to me)
