Open carry has always been legal in New Mexico...and of course they are laughing at ya'll Texicans for making such a big deal worrying about what will happen now that ya'll have finally caught up to the other free states. ;)
Agreed. While it is better to have guards who also have the ability to defend, the lack of ability to defend does not negate their other values like possible deterrence, early warning, etc.
How many here were in the military? How many stood watches of some sort either unarmed or armed with...
Good on ya...I am proud of you. If one's home isn't important enough to stand and defend, what is? Good luck.
Your two best defensive weapons are your brains and your mindset. I think you've got a very good start there.
Life membership earns you $10,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage. But most importantly, it gives you bragging rights that you are an NRA Life Member...which combined with a buck might get you a cup of coffee...so YES, it is well worth it! ;)
I no longer debate them...you cannot have an intelligent debate with those afflicted with a mental illness like hoplophobia. I prefer to treat them as one would treat a rabid dog running loose.
Best advice I can give to the OP and others that are overly-dependent on their firearm for protection is to
a. Work on your situational awareness and "planning for Murphy" skills.
b. Work on your hand-to-hand combat skills
c. Bone up on the identification and use of weapons of opportunity.
You are overthinking it. If cost is an issue, learn to reload and avoid using cost as an excuse as to why you either cannot shoot the caliber you desire or cannot shoot as much as you'd like. It's not expensive to get into reloading for pistol...and the cost difference between loading 45acp and...
Federal HST premium factory rounds cost the same in 9mm or 45acp and I see no difference in the cost of my reloading components between the two calibers, so I am not sure where you see 45 costing "so much more".
Shoot the biggest round you can shoot effectively.
Whether you or SCOTUS agree or take my opinions seriously are no more relevant to me than the agreement or consideration of Parliament or King George was to Samuel Adams...who was not a lawyer. No offense, but while lawyers can be tools to help effect change and justice, they are rarely the...
Uh...you actually have to have an accident for speed to be a potential contributing factor..and even then there is no correlation between what the speed limit may be vs what might be a safe speed. Speed may or may not be a contributor at or below the speed limit too.
Indeed, why did the...
It used to be that our laws where whatever the King or Parliament said they were too...our forefathers weren't buying it then and we shouldn't be today. The Constitution provides a mechanism to change it...judicial decree is not one of them. ;)
If your wife was aware of the color choices available with the Bayou Hi-Teks, she might want those instead!
To the OP: I prefer the Hi-Tek coated bullets from Bayou Bullets or my more local buds at LNL
I got one for my wife a year or so ago. The only issue I had with it was the trigger reset, which I was able to fix myself. The only reason I ended up trading it was because the progression of arthritis in my wife's hands made it impossible for her to work the slide.
