    Finally Leaving California???

A sweet STI 2011... I do despise the roster we have here.

    Gun Store Story

I have learned you have to go into a GS knowing who you are probably going to be dealing with: ADD leaning, opinionated after the glaze comes off the eyes, semi-knowledgeable if you get a good one (slim chance), likely irked with you for no discernible reason. Might have something in their...

    Powder measure hopper got me

I was in the midst of loading up some 9mm on my Hornady LnL when the hopper fell off my powder measure. Man, I had it half full of Universal when it spun off. Powder of course went everywhere and I have to admit I said several bad words, some of them several times. Never had this happen with...

Progressive Press Specifics - Hornady & Lee Loadmaster

Looks like Natchez has a deal going with free shipping, Lock n Load press @ $379- this is the best I have seen.

Ruger SR1911 10MM FIrst Range Visit

Good video, good shooting, went to the California roster and of course this unit is not included... doh!

Is the 40 S&W headed for obsolescence?

I shoot and reload 4 handgun calibers. Once upon a time I shot primarily .40 and believed it a good self defense round. Over time I found that shooting for recreation and the abrupt recoil of .40 did not mix that well. I sold of couple of .40 guns and augmented my 9's and .45's. Just way more...

I've fallen into the Sig trap and I can't get out.

I love my 226 and Sig 1911. I would strongly recommend drifting out the pin for the extractor when detail stripping. Take it all the way down as you will be amazed how much carbon gets into the extractor channel.

9mm CZ-75B headspaces longer than the hood?

I discovered the exact same thing in my CZ 75B in .40, and had the same concerns as you. It was a departure from my other semi-autos and it took me awhile to disregard. But trust your OAL when you drop your cartridge in and give it a turn to verify it is chambering correctly.

    Once Fired Brass.Com ?

I used them for pistol brass, no problem. In fact, I ordered some from Graf's at the same time and their product was much better than Graf's.

    Shot my first GP100

I love my 4" GP-100: built like a tank, more accurate than I will ever be, and it will be going strong 100 years from now.

Encouraging newbies to have a go

I was at my local range today and a group of French tourists was having a go a couple of lanes over. They were having a great time shooting the range rentals, 9mm semis. So I was trying out some new loads in my .357 magnum, warmish 158 SWC's on top of H-110, and they were zapping right in where...

    Recommend a new powder measure

I can offer that my RCBS uniflow with a micrometer is tough to beat. I load varieties of pistol caliber and have found the RCBS has a lot more capacity in the small rotor than my Hornady, which means that when I get into magnum loads if I use the Hornady I have to swap out rotors. My experience...

    .45 ACP Primer Size

As a new owner of a Hornady progressive I can attest to the truth of your statements. After relying on the forbearance of the reloading deities for a long time to keep my cases sorted I did not give my brass too much of an inspection after tumbling. Of course this is when I primed off the press...

Does anyone know how to get their Lock n Load AP to stop doing this?

I experienced the same thing, I cracked both of the brackets that came with my press. Hornady sent replacements right away and I noted they are heftier than the two that came with my press. Working great now. I also recognized that the originals cracked for a reason- as others have stated ensure...

Why do some people ridicule Glock owners?

My perception of the fan-boy is an impressionable sort new to guns, they looked at a whole bunch of internet information and identified with Glock's marketing, bought a G-19, shot it irregularly and not well. Now they feel they know it all and all other options are hopelessly outdone by Glock...

Thinkin' of gettin' a S&W PERFORMANCE CENTER PRO SERIES MODEL 60

While not a PC model 60, and also unfortunately possessing the Hill Hole, my model 60 was a great carry option. It is so minute you do not notice it all. I carried it with mid range .357 (as full pull magnums are not pleasurable to shoot out of this little dandy) and I also threw a speed strip...

    Nested cases

I collect range pick up and like Gump and that box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get. I keep looking for a "perfect storm" of nested cases, with a conga line of .500, 45, .40, .38/.357/9MM/.380, .32, .25., and .22 to emerge from my tumbler. If this were to ever happen I would...

    CCI Primers on sale

I was able to get on the Brownells deal a couple of weeks ago, $30/brick where the hazmat was basically waived ($0.70) + free shipping. I was tipped off by a HighRoad post. Looks like there are some real good deals going on in the industry right now.

I Don't Hate Glocks any more

When I lived in Oregon I concluded a Glock was a good choice for carry. I picked up a 30S (10 rounds of .45 per mag), changed out the sights and replaced the staple gun trigger. I felt real comfortable with this doodlebug for carry, but when I want to enjoy shooting a handgun I go right to my...

My Hornady progressive press has arrived, beauty

"...use a lock washer on top of the shellplate washer. If you do you may never realize how much you appreciate it, if you don't you will definitely wish you had" Sound advice. I quickly found that the hand tighten with the hex wrench could be overcome as the shell plate rotated. I was wondering...
