CCI .22 Stingers bad for Guns?

Though I can't quote the specific reason you're thinking of for the Ruger pistol. I believe the 22 Stinger has a case that is a little bit longer than the standard 22lr, therefore can run into feeding or extractions issues.

    +P and +P+

Straight from the Hi-Point site. I haven't had anything hotter than standard pressure out of mine though.

Describe the person who most surprised you that they CCW'ed, when you found out.

I found out recently my sister has a ccw license. Turns out when she had to do the background check for her daycare service she runs out of her home, the ccw permit was only about an additional $50 because of the same background check for each; she took the test, passed and got her license...

Child locks himself in gun vault

When I worked at Dicks, though I didn't work directly in the 'Lodge' area, sometimes I did have to cover for people going to lunch or something like that. I was always told to keep the safes completely closed and locked at all times unless a customer was looking at a specific model. Also, I...

    The Works: Firearms

I wasn't completely impressed, a few errors. But overall, a decent program. I did like the response to the hosts' question/miming of firing from the hip; "Not unless you want to die!" Nice to see someone calling that style of firing stupid basically. Maybe one less person fighting...

Gun in the face at the range

I've only had one problem at a range; cease fire was called by the RO; no firing, unload, action open before walking downrange to access targets. A guy a couple stalls down lets off a round right after the call. The RO immediately comes down and tells the guy to leave the range. No BSing...

    ummm..... what caliber for bigfoot???

I was just about to start this same thread. :) I've heard a rumor that it was actually shot with a 30.06, but of course just a rumor right now.

    Hunter Safety Ed in schools

I finished high school in south-east Texas in 2001, the Ag (agricultural) teacher couldn't bring in a rifle for one of our ag classes. IRC, he could only bring in some empty shell casings and a cut-up section of a barrel. I could tell he really wanted to bring more in, but didn't want to get...

    Anyone keep a Range Log?

I keep a simple excel spreadsheet, date, # of rounds fired/type, # and type of failures. I do keep the targets with similar information on them.

    High Point 9mm info

I have a C9 myself. The quality isn't perfect, my pistol has a few rough spots here and there, but nothing major and nothing affecting function. Accuracy was pretty good, though I've only had about 150 rounds through it. I think its a good range gun, nothing fancy is needed to throw lead...

UNDER $450 Semi Auto 9mm Range Gun ONLY

Hi-Point C9. $155 MSRP NIB, though I have found them cheaper. Nothing fancy about them, but they do throw the lead down range.

Are all gun stores this lax about security?

There are two locally owned gun stores I go to with any regularity. One has all firearms either behind the counters, or in the diplay case. The other store, has most of their firearms behind the counters or in cases, but they do have few racks of milsurps just sitting out in the open, I don't...

I'm so tactical my wife has to sign a NDA just to ask me how my day was at work.

How long it takes for the police to arrive after you dial 911

I've got a couple of stories, a little background first, I live right on the corner of an intersection that just happens to be on the dividing line of two cities, the East-bound lane is one city and the West-bound lane is another city. If I call to report a vehicle accident, I'm forced to tell...

I got a NO FIREARMS sign removed

Ironically, I'm keeping quiet (except to everyone here) about keeping a no firearms sign up! Don't hate me yet. The local grocery store I believe has had a sign up prohibiting firearms even before Kansas had a concealed carry law. But, what they haven't realized is after the ccw law, to...

How long until Bradys update their site?

Well, they "fixed" the 404 link to the truth about the 2nd. Except now it takes you to the Legal Action Project, http://www.gunlawsuits.org/defend/index.php, definitely NOT the truth about the 2nd. The main body of the text still hasn't been replaced to reflect the actual views of the courts...

Is There Anyone Here Who DOESN'T carry?

No I don't carry. I am in Kansas which recently passed a ccw law, i'm 25, and have no legal restrictions. My main thing holding me back is the money, I don't have a full time job right now so of course money is very tight. Once I pay down more of my cc and car loan, I'll find a class and send...

Pasadena, TX Shooting... You may recall

When I first heard about this, I wasn't excited by the fact that the suspects were shot in the back. Never looks good for the shooter, but this was the first time I've heard that the suspect(s) were running towards the shooter. I can't say I would have gone outside in the first place, but if...

    Body Armor?

I keep a level II around the house. It was used when I bought it about 6 years ago. But reading articles from the NIJ make me feel comfortable about its age, still good (I hope). I do wear it to the range; I protect my ears and eyes, why not my chest? I do toss it on when I hear a bump in the...
