WA state - Gun Show Loophole SB 5197 - Passed Committee - Call Your Senator NOW.

"Takes about five minutes most days." Sorry Jack, I'm in Eastern WA and I've purchased a total of 5 rifles/handguns in the last 2 years and was made to wait out the minimum waiting period every single time... The process just seems so inefficient to me. (And no, I don't have a police record.)...

Armed robbery in pharmacy - what would YOU do?

Ok, I thought some of you guys were a little overzealous with the aprehensive feeling of pharmacies. And not being naive, I realize the abundance of "top shelf" painkillers at such a busines and am well aware of the fact the we have plenty of junkies/meth-heads in our area... but I go to the...

    Neck sizing the 223wssm

I've currently got my FL die backed off slightly to neck-size only... But an occasional shell gives some resistance in closing the bolt. Is this safe? Could I be damaging my chamber?

Hunter survives five nights of cold, hunger in Idaho mountains

I never go very far from the truck without my Camelbak Mule. I've got about everything Dr Rob recommends and then some... I probably carry too much as well, but fully loaded the pack is barely noticable. More importantly; even though I never know what's going to happen out there, I still make...

    Torque setting/Receivers

Hi All, I bedded the stock on my M70 and the while it seems to be a job well done in appearance, my groups have increased to apprx 1.5" - they were apprx .5" before. (So much for leaving well enough alone.) A few of the guys at the range said the rifles are sometimes finicky when it comes...

Anyone know what other cartridges share the same boltface?

    Case trimming problems...

Callgood... It just goes to show how someone can grow in this hobby. I had no idea what you meant back in Oct... But went back and read that post- And I now know exactly what you mean. That's the same prob. I'm having... I just measured and there is a slight variance as I measure the length...

    Case trimming problems...

"I have to ask why one would change the bedding on a 1/2" hunting rifle though." GREEDINESS...... Plus I really wanted to try out a bedding job even though it wasn't really neccesary. I did have a knowledgable friend look at it and he thought it looked pretty good... The scope rings are tight...

    Case trimming problems...

Used Metal polish w/Drill and overkilled... As recommended I polished the pilot- but went too far. The pilot is ever so slightly too small, but will this pose a problem w/ the case not being square to the cutter? If it's not square, is it possible for accuracy to go down the tube? The reason...

    USPSA Production class

3 gun Thanks for the tip... I will be looking to add a trigger kit for obvious reasons; but how will changing the ejector springs/guide rod affect performance?

    USPSA Production class

What mods are acceptable(recommended) for production class? I am very interested in competing and have a Glock G38 that I will be using...

    70gr OK for 10" twist?

I have a coyote in .223 WSSM w/ 10" twist. Is 70gr too heavy for this? My current pet load is the 65gr Sierra Gameking w/38gr of Varget. -Smitty

Question about determining OAL for a MN M44

Matt, I can't say enough about the Stoney Point OAL gauge I bought for my 223wssm. It made a huge difference! After the results I obtained, I even sprung for the comparator to fine tune even more... I'm not sure if they'll have the proper case for your rifle, but I know you can send them one...

    Hunting coyotes with a 7mag

Bearmgc, From what I understand it doesn't matter what the condition of the pelt is in a situation like this. The bounty is for the eradication of the coyote itself, not for the possibily to turn them around and make money... So Blast Away!

    coyote and bear bait

mktvr: I use the FoxPro FX3 over here in Eastern WA and it works great! There are so many sound options to choose from when you need to mix it up. It's really nice because sometimes they won't respond to wounded rabbit sounds, because they've figured that one out from hard hunting in that...

    223wssm Load For Bobcat...

Even my Nosler Partions prove too explosive on smaller game. Anyone use FMJ's on bobcat? When I was younger, we used .308 FMJ's on coyotes and the pelt damage was very minimal. (But a less-than-perfect shot sometimes led to a lost dog.) I would like to spare as much of the pelt as possible for...

    300WSM question...

It's not a recoil issue. I would like to have a good elk rifle that I can "load down" in order to take deer sized game w/o too much oomph... In a perfect world, I would have both a dedicated deer rifle, as well as an elk rifle; but budget doesn't permit that.

    300WSM question...

SatKong... What would you guess the velocity/energy is? Or have you crono'd it?

    300WSM question...

If I were to load this below recommended minimums, do you think it would be possible to find an accurate load? What I want is to be able to go a little less powerfull and maybe mimic something to that of a .308, or '06... But then still have the ability to use standard loads for elk. Am I asking...

    pet load for a 25-06

Even w/ my 223WSSM, those ballistic tips wreak havoc. I can imagine what they'll do for the 25-06... IMHO- Like dakotasin, I too prefer the Sierra Gamekings. They're no slouch on accuracy either... I'm sure nosler partitions or Winchester Solid Base's are fine too. As a matter of fact I...
