My understanding is that it isn't so much about 80% lowers as it is about one specific lower that they sell that the BATF claims is essentially a 100% lower that is injection filled with plastic to bring it back to 80%. We have an active thread on our local board about this as well...

Ouch! It costs me $0.18 a round to reload .40 S&W. That's about $90 / 500, but my brass is all free. I'm lucky that the local police practice at our range and leave all their .40 brass on the ground. Are you loading jacketed or plated?

Nope .... sorry, illegal in the peoples republic of Massachusetts :banghead:. Any "component" of ammunition, including the spent primer or even an unprimed brass is considered "ammunition" and you better be properly licensed to possess it! I HATE this state!

I got the cheapo harbor freight ultrasonic and it works well on my cylinders. In fact, when I tear down my 1858 Remington, everything except the frame goes into the cleaner. Yes, I remove the nipples and use hot water along with the powdered cleaner HF sells. It's just a small ultrasonic but...

I've found that the easiest way for me to install the cylinder is to start with the hammer uncocked, put the cylinder in from the right aligning one of the notches on the cylinder to the stop, then slightly pull back on the hammer to retract the hand while I rotate the cylinder into place - but...

The Wal-Mart's on the MA / NH line check ID's too, if you're from MA you have to show your LTC to buy ammo from them. It's really quite bizarre ... I bought a muzzleloader there, rifle - OK, Pyrodex - OK, 209 Primers - OK, Sabotted bullets - WE NEED TO SEE YOUR ID!

I'm new to muzzleloaders too, I wanted something to play around with without going too wild. I bought an inexpensive CVA Buckhorn at Walmart, $147 .... they had pyrodex, 209 primers and saboted bullets on the shelf. With the open sights I'm shooting sub 3" groups at 70 yards with no problem...

Huffing Hoppes #9?? ... especially the Semi Automatic cleaner, with it's healthy dose of naptha .... The first time I opened the bottle I thought I was going to pass out! I quickly moved the cleaning operation to outside!
