As for "effective" caliber, that's a very subjective term. The fact is, most people when shot with anything are going to stop what they are doing and run, fall to the ground in pain/fear, or die if you happen to be a really good shot. The only exceptions to this rule are if you are dealing with...
When I need deep concealment, the LCP comes along. Yes, it can be a pocket pistol with the right kind of holster. .380 isn't the best caliber around, but it beats a big a** gun you leave at home!
The Kel-Tec P32 is another good choice. As far as I know it's the thinnest and lightest pocket...
Most of the time, I carry a Ruger SP101 2.25" (bobbed hammer) loaded with Buffalo Bore 38 +P 158 gr lead semi wad cutter hollow points. If I need deep concealment, an LCP in a MIC Holster does the trick. I don't feel quite as well armed, but I can carry basically anywhere--where it's legal to...
I just thought of a great one. In all your westerns (classic and modern), we see gunslingers loading all six chambers of their revolvers and then holstering them. Nope. The only people who did that would likely wind up severely injured or dead as there was no hammer block or transfer bar type...
A friend of mine has one of these. It would be a luxury purchase for sure, but I'd probably go for the Seecamp LWS380 before I'd get the Rohrbaugh. The 12 month plus waiting list would give me time to save!
I've carried a Ruger Vaquero several times and never felt undergunned. I'm not as good with one as other firearms, but I still like my odds with full house .45 Colts screaming out of the barrel!
I only wish that Glock Tech made a MIC Holster for it. They make one for the Shield, but I think the dimensions of the trigger guard are slightly different. No biggie, I'd probably just carry it in a Remora.
MIC Holsters, Clip Draws, and Remoras tend to be the only holsters I use.
Haha. I'll admit, it's a more than proven round and I probably should omit it from my list of no-no's, but I suppose everyone has their own personal quirks about firearms. My grandfather didn't believe it was a real gun unless it was made of blued steel, for example. He would likely have had a...
I'd considered all of these too. The M&P 340 has always interested my mind but not my wrists. I shot one of those once and can't imagine shooting the 2-ounce-lighter 340PD!!
Yup, nothing about his family bothered me either. The only concern I had is that his company is a subsidiary of the Tongil Group in South Korea. I'm glad that Kahr is here providing Americans with good jobs, but I also want my money to stay here in the states. If not for that, I'd pick up a PM45...
The .32 and .380 Kel-Tecs would be acceptable to me but not the 9mm ones. 9mm was not an American designed cartridge. I've owned a P32 before and I must say, never have I owned a lighter or thinner pistol. I think Beretta's new Pico is actually thinner, but then we run into that whole foreign...
