So a few months back another member posted some snapshots of a cheap bore scope he got off e-bay so i went and found one took about a month to get it then after messing with it a few days the LEDs quit. They refunded my money and i found another one again took 30 some days to get it also.

Ive noticed with my pistols i tend to always shoot left just a touch. Last night i met my friend up at the range and he had a used CVA he picked up that he shoots pretty well so i tired it with my loads, filler and ball setup.
It shot just like mine do, ive never seen this gun before never...
I have an 1858 Rem brasser, an 1851 brasser and an 1860 brasser
Last few times i got out i shot the Rem and the 1860, been keeping the others clean.
Im beating the snot outta these brass frames and i dont seem to notice any ill effects. We shot 23g of T7 3F in the 1860 monday and i dont...

I figured bearings were...
Is this gun that big of a dud? Ive read the double action Starr has some issues but the single action is ok? Or are they both riddled with issues?
Cabelas never seems to restock the Starr but its always on their website.
Starr single action revolver
This broken gun i just got is going to be harder then i thought to fix. I figured i could just get a pietta parts kit and drop the parts in and start shooting. LOL what a joke that was.
I got a Remington parts kit off cabelas and it came in today but the 2 parts i need dont even fit they are...
Normally when i have some ideas some one has already done it, some times i start here sometimes i do a google search wich usually leads me back here under a different topic or subject i didnt think to search.

If i used steel wool and cleaned this up how long would it take to get it back like this?
I dont have any guns that have this old aged look like this one but there are some burs on it in spots i wanted to clean it up and file the burs but i wanted it still have this old look to it.
Not sure what i was searching for but i came across this thing on e-bay and ive never seen such a thing before. I saved it and continued searching and forgot about it. Today i got an e-mail it was relisted and reminded me of it.

Been shooting my colts mostly the last few trips to the range and ive had a REALLY bad time with them and cap fragments. The #10 Remgintons are what i mostly use and they seem to be designed to split or its the design of the cap why they fit so well?
The best luck ive had so far with minimul...
Ill try and explain how i made it.
A while back i lost the little plate from my brass frame Remington target model. The little plate that has a notch in it you can slide back and forth. I found a little package of thin brass strips and i cut one and fixed the Remington. With the left over...
Ive had alot of problems with these colts. I had 2 before and i thought they had problems so i let them go and i collected 4 more all of them were new and unfired.
I went threw all of them adjusting the action so the bolt falls in the right spot and doesnt ding the cylinder up. I also shimmed...
THe wedge on th ecolts that hold the barrel on.
Ive been using a brass key that is flat on the end but im wondering if there is anything better?
brass tip screw driver maybe?
Now that i have the front sight back on my stainless i have this little 4" section of the front of the barrel that i cut off.
Its a hair under 4" long, still has the dovetail front and the 45° crown, stainless steel.
What would you do with this?
A couple months ago i found a pair of 12" 1858 buffalos (dixie calls it a texas i think) i bought the stainless one first and it shot like a lazer. I didnt like the 12" but my plan was to hack 4" off it so it looks like a normal gun. Each one was $125. i couldnt pass em up. The stainless one is...
Ive never had to adjust the action on an 1858 yet and im still trying to figure out how they work exactly.
If the bolt comes up at half cock the bolt arms are to short?

This gun has been sitting in a box for some 20 years the back of the frame and the cylinder has a little surface rust. The cylinder isnt as bad as the frame.
Other then reblue it what can i do now with it?
Some smaller images of the area
I found this in a box my dad had put away because he was frustrated with the results of the finish on the frame.
He said it was from lyman and it was all unfinished he had to blue the barrel and frame and stain and finish the grips.
he said he blued the frame 5 different times and it...
