    Convert a percussion to flint

    New plug for Jukar Rifle. You could possibly try this.Remove the Bolster and make a plug with a touch hole as per the photo.This barrel had a damaged breach so I cut it off re threaded the breach end internaly and made a plug to suit.Any one with a lathe could tackle the job. Regards

    I built this Lock from Castings,I could never get a good spark so I faced the Frizzen with some thin Springsteel,by riveting at three points,then hardening by heating to cherry red and quenching in water.

    What is Your Prefered Black Powder?

    For the Muzzloaders at our Range the owners only allow Black Powder so there is no choice.At some other Ranges nearby Pyrodex is allowed.I personaly stick to BP since I shoot from a Historical Perspective.I would say from the Hunters point of view "whatever brings home the Meat" is a good maxim.

    The Ramrod accident happened a few years back as related to me by someone who was there.The cannon field fire was on a hot dry day and the car parks where full so they used a field with long grass, the fire spread and burned the cars out.
