Finally, a *reasonably* realistic portrayal of firearms training/safety on TV

The range they film this in is a real range that I shoot at in Barry near Cardiff. It's a 200yrd fullbore range in an old railway tunnel :-) Pity they didn't leave all the cool torchwood props there :-)

Trafalgar arms fair bisley camp England

The arms fair is a reasonable size, not quite as big a phoenix, but the pavilion hall is usually full, a good 20 or 30 stalls maybe.. There's usually plenty of guns there, and once you've had enough you can always go around the ranges and watch and talk to the guys shooting :-) The NRA has...

    Anyone Used Prvi Ammo?

It's very popular over here in Europe. One of the few places you can get decent .303, I use it in my Enfields and 7.62 in my enforcer.. Pretty accurate, and very clean. I've been happy with it, and I'm really protective of my beloved enfields :o

Where are my images used right now?

I printed a few off, and used them as posters on the wall of our shooting club clubroom, over here in the UK. You can see in this picture from our website www.porttalbotrifleclub.org.uk There are more on the other walls, I can get some better ones on Wednesday.

30mm versus 1" tubes on scopes

My wife has a Leupold Mk4 PR 3-9x40 with a 1" tube on her .223 Steyr Tactical Elite scout. She's grouping 1" at 200 yards with it, and will take her all the way out to 1000yards with the 56moa elevation. I can't recommend it enough. Here it is at Leupold's website.

    Chronograph

I've got one of those, was using it yesterday in fact. Very reliable, accurate and easy to use. Does all of the "complex" maths for you, Min, Max, Average, SD etc. at the touch of one button. Works on everything I've put through it first time, from softair to arrows to .308.

Can any UK shooter tell me,what handguns they used to own?

Ok first of the sad and bitter replies :cuss: (Photos not of mine, but for illustration) Britarms 2000, .22 won competitions at Bisley 2 years running with this Colt Python .357 Nickel Randal service .45 Colt Gold cup .45 Beretta 92 Walther P38 Most of my...

    Radway Green Ammo:

We shoot it all the time over here in the UK. It's made in England, and is the UKs only military ammo manufacturer and main supplier to the army. The 7.62 greenspot and blackspot are superb match ammo. The standard ball is good for 1-2 MOA at 1000yds in my Enforcer and Parker Hale T4 :-)...

    water and ricochets

Once when shooting into a stream (that's in the bottom of a narrow valley) with .22 tracer, nearly all bounced off the water and into the bank, and that's got to be an angle of 30 odd degrees, so it doesn't have to be just shallow angles. .308 tracer doesn't bounce though, no matter how many...

    Wolves!

Slightly OT but mentions wolves, a quote from my favourit book, Waylander by David Gemmel. 'Once I loved life and the sun was a golden joy. But joy is sometimes short-lived, priest. And when it dies a man will seek inside himself and ask: Why? Why is hate so much stronger than love? Why do...

Britain - Service Armories' Guns Stolen

I was speaking to a Special Branch officer before christmas, he said that the police think about 1000 illegal guns a WEEK are making their way into the country, mainly from eastern europe. It is now cheaper to by an illegal gun in a dodgy pub than it ever was to buy one...

Just Re-Upped My NRA Membership For Another Five Years.......

Cherish your NRA. Over here in the UK we have no-one to stick up for our gun rights. Our NRA is basically a retired officers club, they think no-one needs anything other than single shot target rifles, and that's the way it's heading. We lost semi-autos in 1988 and handguns in 1997, and...

How the Brits "Dumb Down" on the Gun Issue

Please spare a thought for us poor buggers who have to put up with the stupid gun laws over here. :cuss: Want to here the latest from the idiots in charge? As apparently 75% of males aged 16-24 re-offend after being released from prison, prison obviously doesn't work, and therefore we...
